If I had to guess...it's about 8" long which started from a rock kicked up from a vehicle as I was traveling on the highway.

No auto glass company will repair....they want to do a replacement at the cost of my deductible.

They won't repair as the crack goes to the edge of the glass and they say the resin will flow out the crack.

It's a 2006 model truck.....not wanting to schell out any green for this but want the crack to stop.

Any suggestions that worked for you?

Years ago my dad said to score a line in front of the crack and that will stop it. Does that work?

What tool did you use to score a line?

TIA

Leave it until it's in your direct field of view. Then replace it immediately. It will get worse quickly, but it's safety glass. So that's good... kinda.

Of all timing CQB, I just had my 06 truck done Thursday...$189 plus tax.

Mine ran almost 3/4 across. Yep it started with a little rock star in the corner. _)&(&^_(**&)lkjliju_&& Dump Trucks

Cook it, it's done! It should fall under the $100 comprehensive part of your policy. Better safe than sorry.

Urgggggghhhhhhj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$250 deductible

It's on the corner of my windshield. Any home jobs that work?

I hear yall....but want to hold out as long as I can.

Let her snap! Most places you might get a ticket that will cost you the price of the windshield anyway. I have two trucks and recently replaced both windshields.

Wait a minute, wait a minute..CQB...Have you priced one your cash price. Forget the deductible. Sure they want to charge you what they can get out of your insurance Co.

I'm saying I just paid cash for mine on Thursday morning, and it was $189...I can't believe a windshield in Texas costs that much more than what I have to pay in my state.

What have you got to lose? Do it and see if ole dad was right.
Might need to borrow the wife's diamond ring, though. :)

I used super glue on a quarter sized "spider web" chip.... lasted 2 years until it was cold as h*** outside and it cracked 1/3 across the windshield from the defroster, super glued it again until next state safety inspection and had to replace it.

I've got troubles with neighborhood kids. I figure one night they'll take it out on my ride. There's also been a rash of catalytic converters cut off by thieves. I've got an '08 pickup and last year I had the insurance changed to zero deductible. It was not that expensive.
This is the 1st PU I've had that hasn't had the windshield replaced. There's got to be something about the glass angle as opposed to that of a car. I was following a semi tractor one time that had no no mud flaps on the highway doing about 75. When I got close enough I could see a baseball size rock stuck between the left side tires on the last axle. Before I could change lanes the rock cut loose and hit my windshield where it meets the roof. If the rock was 3 inches lower it would have rearranged my face.
I know so what, this is off topic. I'm afraid you're gonna have to get a new windshield.

It is the right side so take a chance..Here you could get a ticket 100 bucks, but only if they stopped you for some other violation or you got in a fender bender.

Ok glass cutter first.

Wuzz Fuzz....ok, I will check on windshield pricing instead of paying my deductible.

It's only on the lower corner of the passengerbside right now.....so I am ok as far as obstruction.

No glass cutter!!!!!!! That is how we score glass to get it to break!

Just apply super glue along the crack and allow it to dry. Scrap off the excess with a razor blade.

I was told the glass repair companies use a type of super glue to fill cracks and bullseyes.

The only difference is they pull a vacuum on the spot so when it is released the glue is pulled into the damaged area.

I was thinking that maybe the idea there was to score a line from the end of the crack in a direction you want the crack to travel. That way to can get the crack to go up on the right side instead of branching across to the left and into the driver's view.

I would replace it.

That windshield is toast. I've seen windshield crack usually along the bottom which usually 'T's in the middle; possibly because of the manufacturing proccess or shape or weight points? Anyway, that crack is too long to repair with those do-it-yourself kits.
