Hi Folks,

As a miniscule token of appreciation for those who put themselves in danger to help others, I would like to offer up a small Karma giveaway here.

To be eligible, I ask that you belong to one of the following groups:

1) Veteran of any branch of service. Current service members are also eligible.

2) Any First Responder. LEOs, Firefighters, Paramedics, etc. either past or present.

3) Anyone else I'm forgetting who should be included.

The knife is a Cold Steel Safe Keeper II, and has been, um, customized by me. This was my first attempt at etching, using aqua regia, and the result is definitely unique.

The knife was then polished a bit for contrast, and rubbed with oil. The edge could use a bit of dressing, but I'll leave that to the new owner. Included is a Secure-Ex factory sheath.

Please make sure you are able to legally own a double-edged knife in your area. All postage is included. A post will be chosen via random.org on or about the evening of Saturday, March 12.

Although FEMA considers me a first responder and I have been first on the scene of minor neighborhood disasters during my previous station I feel that those who have and currently serve in the capacities described are far more deserving than I.

If PatX feels that I qualify in some way then I wish to pass my chance on to a gent upstate from me who will (I'm sure) will drop his hat into this ring. JimmyJ, retired LEO whose 8 sons and daughters have followed in his footsteps.
