Safety Hamerless 5th model in 38 S&W in excellent condition. Often called the Lemon squeezer. Serial #246030. Perfect mechanics.Shiny bore.3.25" barrel.Original blued finish. Numbers matching including grips (has 6030 stamped on rh grip)
Original brown/black hard grips appear to have had the bottoms lightly repaired (epoxy?) and the logo area is worn on the RH grip panel. Some blueing wear on end of muzzle and very light rust freckling on rh rear frame near grip (see photo) probably from being stored on that side in the box as the rest of the gun has no corrosion showing. Some light rubbing in the blueing on the lh side, on the removable side plate above large screw. (See photo)
Comes with a dandy display box made from various materials..not sure what exactly. It's not real marble that I am sure. I think the metal strips are copper straps. Whoever did it had craftty skills. (Beyond mine..)
Included are some custom hand made grips (2 pair) One pair is made of some kind of oil finished burly orangish wood with peg style S&W medallions and one pair are made of real pearl and no medallions. Both pair fit this revolver well.Craftsmanship is good.
I bought this from an estate sale locally.I have not fired the revolver but I will guarantee its function. The owner had passed and nobody knew nothing about the gun or box other than it was on/in his nightstand when he died. (of natural causes..)
