Well, this knife wasn't getting much attention on GB and Ebay removed my listing when they saw that the handle was mammoth ivory. Ebay said that even though the mammoth has been extinct for a long time, they could not verify that the ivory did not come from an animal that was still alive. Anyway, with that said, I prefer to offer it to people here. BTW, the mammoth ivory is from Siberia, where it has been coming up out of the permafrost for many years. It has apparently become quite expensive.
This is a top of the line, custom made, camp knife made by Arno Bernard in South Africa. It is truly a work of art and is designed for hard use, but I find it too nice to use. I did cut some tent pegs with it once, then cleaned the blade with acetone, and it showed no signs of use. The steel he used is amazing! I'm asking for $750 or will consider trades for pre-lock S&W revolvers in .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum or .45 Colt.
The knife will come with the original sheath, pictured below, which has some minor wear. And I will include a custom steer hide sheath I had made for it.
I have verified with Arno Bernard's company that this is the only knife he made like this. It was also made personally by him before he went into business with his sons. They all make excellent knives, but I hear that the knives made by Arno Bernard Sr are the most sought after.
If you decide that you want the knife, please post a response saying "I'll take it" and follow up with a PM to me. Thanks!
