WITHDRAWN:
There has been some debate as to the originality of this firearm over on the Colt Forums. And some questions about the serial number. Because of this, I am withdrawing this piece from sale until I can get it lettered.
I'll reach back out to those that have expressed interest once I have received the letter.
Mods, please lock/close/delete.
Colt New Service Flat Top Target in .44 Russian / S&W Special
Flat latch
Original fleur de lis grips
Original blueing
The bore appears to be a box or two away from being new.
Manufactured circa 1928
Serial #: 327067
Mild scratches, muzzle wear and a wear line down the right side of the barrel. I'm guessing this gun was holstered and carried for a part of its life.
Buggered grip screw.
Buggered front sight screw.
Mildly buggered left-side case screw.
Difficult to read serial #
This is one of the last remaining firearms that I helped sell off for a family friend who passed away a few years back. I've been kicking around the idea of keeping it for myself, but my priorities (marriage, children, etc.) are changing and I'm stripping my personal collection down to just items that I'll shoot. Thankfully, I have a lot of guns that I shoot!
When I came into this piece, I was extremely concerned about the serial number on it. So I reached out to Paul Szymaszek at Colt. He verified the serial number and came to the conclusion that someone attempted to clean up the serial at some point and doing so did more harm than good. Regardless, it is legible and Paul is confident that it is correct. I can forward my email correspondance with Paul upon request.
Additional photos can be provided upon request. Just tell me where and what you want shot and I'll send it over.
Asking $2200. Other offers will be considered
Sale and shipping can be handled through my local and preferred FFL, Friday's Firearms LLC out of Brighton Colorado for an additional $45.
Although I've had some very positive transactions on this board; I have no feedback. I can reach out and ask the members that I've had prior dealings with to give feedback to an interested buyer via PM or email.
3 day no-fire inspection period. A very prompt refund minus total shipping costs will be given if the buyer changes his/her mind after inspection.
Thank you for looking!
