WITHDRAWN:
For sale is a Colt Govt model, Wiley Clapp edition.
Series 70, steel frame, front strap checkering (Pete Single design), brass bead front sight, undercut trigger guard.. probably forgetting some features, but y'all likely know what you need to know about the Clapp editions.
Bought this new in box, a few months ago, and it has been treated gently and well maintained.
It has 2 range sessions under it's belt, both times with flawless function and good accuracy.
Total round count is 230 rounds. Mixture of ball and JHP with no problems.
This gun is accurate but has the Colt "rattle" in the grip safety and definitely not the tightest slide to frame fit.
Trigger was great, with minimal take up or creep and a crisp break. The reset is not as strong as some triggers I have felt, but short and predictable.
NO dings, scratches, flaws and basically as you would expect from a pistol with only 230 rounds fired.
Only selling as I have bought a DW Specialist and a DW Valor Bob in the past week, and need to recoup some cash.
Comes with factory hard case and all tags, literature, manuals, etc..
Two Colt magazines which are UNUSED. I never used the factory mags during my two range sessions, so they remain as new.
VZ double diamond black grips (thin grips) and factory (thin) grips.
I overpaid for this pistol on GB, as the Clapp models are not being manufactured any longer.
I perused past listings on this forum to settle on a fair price, and factored in what I (overpaid) for on GB.
Price shipped and insured from FFL to FFL: $1485. NOW lowered to $1399.
I do not have any close up pics of the breech face, barrel, etc.. but will try and take some this weekend.
For now, enjoy the pics below. ANY SMUDGES, DISCOLORING, or what appear to be MARKS or SCRATCHES... are NOT. (all pics taken with my phone, and we all know that can be tricky)
Please post "I'll take it" as this is listed on one other forum.
Thanks for your consideration,
