I couldn't resist. The price was just too good. CDNN has these for $269 BRAND new so I bought one Christmas week. The irony is the day after I ordered it, it went on sale for $239!!! Bad timing, the story of my life.

Only comes with one mag, but still a great deal!

For those who don't know, the Witness is a Cz clone made in Italy by Tanfoglio imported by EAA. This particular pistol is full sized (small frame) on a polymer frame that takes regular Cz mags. It's double action. It can be carried Cocked and Locked

I got it home and took it apart. I don't see any machining marks anywhere on the slide. Nice, tight and smooth, just the way I like them - firearms I'm talking about. It can apply to other things as well. The finish is even all the way through.

I haven't fired it yet, but my only complaint is that the double action pull has to be about 10# and LONG. Single action isn't too bad. After I put some rounds through it, I might change out the springs.

Anyway, I'll get some picts up if I make it home before it gets dark.

I've been eyeballing that Witness, and the PPX that they have for sale, trying to figure out which way to go. Just looking for a nice inexpensive 9mm since I don't own one. The one thing that I wasn't sure about was the barrel length on that particular Witness. In researching the 999044 SKU#, I came up with conflicting information, some listed barrels at 4.5, others 3.6. One of my other concerns is the ability to manipulate to slide, since there doesn't seem to be much to grab on to. Any other pros/cons would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, EAA999044 is the one I got from CDNN. It's a 4.5 inch barrel.

Yes the slide is small, but it's easy to grip and pull back, for me.

I just looked and CDNN has the PPX for $279.

Part of the reason I got the Witness was that I have a number of Cz magazines and I can share between the two pistols. The only difference between the two is the base plate - the base plate is bigger and plastic/polymer on the Witness mags.

I own a Witness P in 10. I had initial feed and lock back issues. Sending it back to EAA and did not solve this problem

Spent additional dollars at a local gun smith just as a last resort to getting rid if it. Cleaned and polishing of the feed ramp did the trick.

noted a lot of rough machine marks on the face of where the striker pin protrudes. Stoned this face clean helped.

I have the larger all-steel version of the Witness, set up for three calibers - .45, .38 Super, and 9mm. I can’t say anything negative, except that it sure is heavy. About as close as you can get to a Bren Ten.
