Wolf Primers

I use them almost exclusively. A bit harder to seat than say Federal. No big deal. I got a lot a while back where I was getting FTF's about 1 in 100. The most recent lots I have purchased have been 100%. Use them in rifle and pistol. Large and small. They are high quality and I prefer them to some others.

I have loaded 1000 Wolf large pistol primers into mixed .45 ACP brass. They seated fine and without difficulty. I have not yet fired any of them.

I think the Tula and Wolf Primer are made at the same factory.
Using the Wolf for about 2 years with no problems at all and just started trying the Tula no problems yet.

I have not used any rifle primers, I has used thousands of both Wolf and Tula large and small pistol primers. They seat and feed fine in my 550B, I have had maybe 2 or 3 FTF in over 10,000 primers, and those FTF were in one particular revolver, with a competition mainspring. Never had a FTF in a semi auto. Now I actually prefer Wolf or Tula, and the price is right. I see no reason to pay more for an expendable that has no advantages over the more inexpensive product.

I just did a quick check, and found only "backorder" listed for all primers that I saw, including Wolf.
But, your posts have convinced me to switch to Wolf primers in the future, when my limited stock of Winchester primers are gone.

Best,
Rick

I've been using Wolf and Tula SP and LP primers since I panic bought a bunch in October of 2008. I panic bought a bunch in October of 2012 as well now that I think of it. May take a few 1000 to the gun show this weekend as I've heard that primers have doubled in price since October.

Wolf and Tula primers are GTG, in fact they are very popular on the Highpower circuit. Many people claim they deliver better results than domestic match primers. For my kind of shooting I can't tell the differnce but better for less is a plus in my playbook.

Wolf, Tula, Magnatech (Brazil), NobelSport, Fiocchi have all worked for me as well as any of the domestics. I use them even when there is no 'shortage'.

Jimmy, I think you will find the Wolfs a little harder than most domestic primers. Make sure that strain screw is tight and you should be good to go. I have over 1000's of Wolf primers had a few "light strikes" Nothing of magnitude and do not hesitate to use them.
