I heard a woman was shot at the Sharonville, Ohio Gun Show Friday during set up. I heard it was a negligent discharge. Anyone have any more information?

I live about 40 miles east of Cincinnati. If there is anything else on the late local news I will report back here.

Negligent discharge in Louisville RK show last w-end on Friday. Show was open and it was a bolt action rifle that had an unnoticed cartridge in barrel that did not extract is what they think happened. The vendor is an ffl and a well known good guy but he was booted from the show immediately. No one was hurt but a glass enclosure for a fire extinguisher was mortally wounded. Vendor thinks he was set up.

Maybe that's why many gun safety courses have you sticking your finger into the action to verify what you think you didn't see isn't there.;)

At the last show I did a fellow wanted to trade/sell me a shotgun. Bolt was open when handed to me. I cycled the action nothing untoward. A Benelli/Beretta type. Hit the latch underneath the action and oh s**t...a shell came out of the mag. There were 2 in it. No he didn't get the ammo back.. I also had a discussion with the owner and the security guy at the door about how to check those particular guns. Scared the owner when I removed those 2 Nitro mags from that gun.....outside! I was not too happy either.

Yes the person was at a gun show, selling guns.
Was he a sales person or a gun person.
There is a big difference!

Cincinnati area authorities have a way of over-reacting when dealing with those trying to follow the law. I hope that the lady is well and that any official ramifications on future gun shows are reasonable.
