The woman was found on top of the body of a 13-month old toddler, with a car crashed into trees a couple hundred yards away.

Unclothed bodies of woman, child found in southwest Fort Worth - Dallas News | myFOXdfw.com

This is right between my house &y son's school. My wife passed by shortly after the bodies were found. She worked in a PD crime for some years (which, BTW, bears zero resemblance to "CSI". ) She saw the car & PD helicopters and knew right away there was a body close by.

Last night I took my son to a basketball game about 1/2 mile from the scene. When we left, it suddenly dawned on me that parking in a dark lot 150 yards from the gym had not been a good choice, and resolved to get a CHL.

I expect they'll announce a cause of death tomorrow. Since the woman was reportedly naked, I don't think there's much doubt it's homocide.

That's horrible. As to the homicide, however, we had a case in this area a couple of years ago in which a mother undressed herself and her children (I think it was two) before drowning them and herself.

Whatever this was, it's utterly tragic.

Well, they just announced on the news it was hypothermia. They think the woman was disoriented after the car crash and collapsed in the field.

The nudity part may not be true. That was a a quote from a guy who claimed to have seen the body from his doctors office across the road. I don't think I've heard anything about that since.

A horrible tragedy to say the least, but it's a little reassuring to know they weren't murdered.

There is a phenomenon called paradoxical undressing. Essentially what happens is someone who is suffering from hypothermia ends up thinking that they are too warm and undress.

So she was shook up by the car accident, took her son out walking into the field, and then died of exposure? That still sounds odd.

Unless toxicology turns up something, this is likely to be one of those mystery cases that will appear on TV in a little while. Very sad, very odd.

In the news here yesterday. A kid of about 10? was home--answered a knock on the front door--opened it and was shot in the head. I HOPE--they pick me for jury duty on this one when the punk is found....
