Wounded Warrior Project execs fired

Unfortunately these charities ("United Way") are dumping grounds for executives or their ne'er do well relatives that fail the low bar of corporate executive competence and ethics. There are a number of so-called religious organizations out there that are also just slush funds for their purported leadership. Who decides who gets these jobs? The same Board that Fired them. What was the Board's cut?

Frankly with more than a few charitable programs, it's not just the bad seeds at the top. It's all the others who are sitting drawing salaries beneath WHO HAVE KNOWLEDGE of the wrongs and continue to hide their heads and keep their paycheck hands' out! I would imagine everyone attending those extravagant conferences and the like had reason to know. What did they do; besides absorb the booze! There used to be better audits of the tax free status of such charities. Nowadays, such as IRS is so pushed, they can't even accomplish some basic tasks competently!
The net, net; rightfully blame those at the top. The sleazeballs in chief. But don't overlook all those who 'tisk-tisked' and turned their backs on simple ethics and moral values!
My take

...they should be doing the job for free...
No, I don't agree.

Now, don't get me wrong, I've been avoiding WWP for years due to mismanaged funds. That doesn't mean their leaders shouldn't be paid. Their families need to eat too.

Running a charity like this is a full time job. Anyone who does it deserves to be paid. I'm not even going to suggest that they should be paid minimum wage like some do. I actually have no beef with them making a really nice salary. What I have an issue with is them keeping 80% of the money and giving 20%. If it's a non-profit that gets all its income from donations, the lion's share of those donations should go to the cause, not the employees.

I donated to WWP for some time, money I couldn't spare, until I began to hear rumors and researched them. Now I give a few bucks more, money I can spare even less, to DAV. My brother was a disabled Navy vet, and apparently they keep responsible control of their overhead. If I had it, I'd also give to the USO.

I was shocked to see that O'Rielly go duped into this fund, and I haven't heard him issue any retractions either (please correct me if I am wrong)

I remember Bill saying how anyone pumping charities should be on the hook for checking out the organizations no matter how well meaning they might be. So what the hell happened on his end? I appreciate all he's done for vets everywhere, but this one seems like a no brainer to avoid. I'd really like to know how or why he didn't do more due diligence before recommending them. Disappointed to say the least.

Again, if I am mistaken about Bill making amends on this issue please let me know...

He said he was looking into it now.
Had some guy saying they were not that bad a few weeks ago.
My problem is all the advertisments they do on TV, that cost big money!
