Hi Guys,

Just bought a S&W Model 66 no dash NIB from a friend. Paid $525.00 cash. It is truly NEW, no turn line, looks cosmetically perfect. I guess his Dad bought it years ago and then gave it to him, he has no interest in guns.... I dont really plan on shooting her, but wanted to know what she would be worth? Did I pay about what it is worth or did I do ok for once?

Thanks
Will

I think you can feel good about the purchase. That's not a screaming deal but think of it this way, if S&W was still making them a new one would cost a lot more and have the IL and MIM parts. You did fine.
I'd probably shoot it.

I think you did really well on that price for a new Model 66.

Now I need a 3 inch, but I dont think I will come across one of those for $525.00!

redbos, you sure do luck into some nice guns!

does it have target hammer and trigger?

how about a picture?

Yup, all the T's...... I have trouble posting pics cause I am using the wife's Mac...... Nah, I usually have bad luck, trust me!

Based on what I've seen them going for, you got a great deal! The 66s have really become sought after, and even more so for the no-dash models. I usually see 'gun-only,' good condition 66s go for around $525-$625. Excellent condition, with box and docs, are always over $600, if you can find them. I'd say your set up is easy $650+.

If you don't shoot it, that value will go up, up, up. Those were working guns, and not a lot of LNIB no dash Model 66 examples around.

Congratulations on your find, and nice to hear that someone's luck is turning around!

redbos,

i have a 66-1 with 3-T's....no box with mine though...paid $500 for it. you did well!

i would love to see a pic of it...thats one of those guns that almost tempts me to work a trade on one of my .22's you were asking about!
