As I continue the pre-retirement thinning of the herd, I'm offering for sale my Griffin and Howe M1c WWII blued scope mount, M-84 scope and M-14 bracket. The scope is an early original M-84, serial number 5750 on the data plate. The finish is near mint, and it is crystal clear, with perfect cross hair and none of the black flaking you so often see today. It would be tough to upgrade.

The bracket is the M-14 Army Weapon Command bracket from the early Vietnam era with the small slotted screw for the side of the M14 or M1A. It is parkerized and serial numbered 6899 in electric pencil, maybe the number of the scope, maybe the last four digits of the rifle it was used with, maybe the last four digits of the M1c mount it was used with. It shows wear from field use, but no abuse.

The mount is an original blued Griffin and Howe mount serial number 3688408 for the M1c sniper rifle from WWII. It is in very nice condition, shows some mild wear and the font is correct for an original mount. The number has been verified as that from an original M1c sniper rifle.

This exact rig is shown in Peter Senich's book "The Long Range War, Sniping in Vietnam" as the optics rig used on Match Grade M14's early in the Vietnam War circa 1966-1970. In fact there are some really nice photos of use by the 101st Airborne and 1st Air Calvary Divisions in the book. They are reported to have been almost as accurate as the XM-21 rifles and were used throughout the war.

If you are looking for a scope and bracket for your M1C or want to trick out you M14 or M1-a, this is your chance. The mount locks up perfectly and the bracket also locks up perfectly on a M1a. If separated, the scope is priced at $950, the bracket at $250 and the mount at $1850 or the entire set is priced at $2850, each plus shipping, or best offer. Three day inspection period. Yes I will consider partial trades for high quality US and German WWI and WWII military weapons but would prefer a cash deal.

Thanks
David
