Smith & Wesson Model 64-5 38 Special with 4" barrel. This revolver has no interal lock (IL). It's serial number (BNZ61xx) indicates it was shipped sometime between March & October 1993. S&W's Lifetime Service policy should still be good for this revolver.
I bought this revolver used a few months ago. I have gone over this revolver with a fine tooth comb. Barrel rifling is pristine with very sharp edges on lands. The barrel looks new inside. End shake was repaired with a .002" shim. Barrel to cylinder gap measures .007" from one side and .008" from the other side. The forcing cone measures just a touch larger than the minimum size for a forcing cone using the proper plug gauge. It does not spit! It passes a Service grade range rod but will not pass a Match grade range rod (steel framed S&W revolvers rarely pass Match rods). The head space measures .066" (spec is between .060" and .068"). Timing is dead nuts.
A Wilson spring kit has been installed. DA trigger pull measures 9.5lbs. SA trigger pull measures 3.0lbs. Trigger pull in both DA and SA is both smooth and SA-WEET! The original springs and the remainder of the Wilson kit will be furnished free to purchaser on request. Altamont Rosewood Diamond target stocks are installed. As can be seen these are checkered with a speedloader cut. Original Walnut Magna stocks, which I have rehabilitated, will be furnished free to purchaser on request. There is no serial number on the original stocks. This revolver shoots far better than I can.
As you can see by the pictures, I have polished this revolver to look as if it's nickel plated. The nice thing about it is that future minor cosmetic damage can be easily repaired as opposed to real nickel plating. No box or papers.
I want $400 plus $25 shipping by Postal Money Order. You'll need to find a FFL that will accept from an individual as I don't have an FFL. Don't assume your's does, some don't and they're not required to. I will need an emailed FFL upon sale. This firearm is advertised in multiple forums. First "I'll take it" gets it.
