Hi all,
I am selling this for a coworker who is computer challenged to say the least. He has not carried it since the early 90's when we started in the NYPD and I said I'd help him out so here we go.
Smith and Wesson model 64-5 matte stainless steel in 38 caliber six shot revolver. It is spurless and has the original Walnut grips. Being a 64-5 it has the serial number on the butt and also on the frame under cylinder. This is a NY-1 gun as shown in picture #6 . The gun shoots great, the timing in on as it should be and it locks up tight. The sights are fixed.
It does show some signs of holster wear, the matte finish is more polished in some spots. This was his service for about 3 years and them became a safe queen. It does have some pitting from something along the cylinder, thumb latch and on that small area that shrouds the cylinder. It almost looks like he draped something over the gun and where it was in contact and it pitted. There was NO rust... The pictures look far worse than it really is. The walnut grips are in good condition with no cracks or splits. They have both medallions and show minor scratches on the right side as this was the exposed side.
Over all this is a GREAT shooter for someone. Im going to list it with the price listed accordingly. I will sell this as my own and take full responsibility with the transaction from start to finish. It must be shipped from my FFL dealer to yours. Please pay with a postal money order and include a copy of your FFL where it will be shipped, $345 shipping is included
Thank you!
