I have for sale a very nice 1950 Colt Govt. Model .45 Auto (only 7700 were made in 1950). To my knowledge, this pistol was purchased new in 1950 by an Army officer who carried it in Korea in 1951. He had beautiful custom grips made in-country which I will include with the gun. The grips are painted black and say "Korea" on one side and "1951" on the other, with a mother of pearl inlay of a dragon on each side. I installed a brand-new set of Herrett figured walnut grips when I purchased the pistol but this is the only change I have made. The finish is original (about 85% blue), as is the magazine and everything else on the gun except for the barrel. The barrel is a blued WWII Hi-Standard which the owner had installed while in the service; it has a bright, shiny bore and looks almost new (some of the early postwar Colts actually came with Hi-Standard barrels from the factory). The hammer is checkered and has polished sides. Slide-to-frame fit is very tight and the gun is reliable and quite accurate (trigger pull is somewhat heavy). This Colt does have the fully-hardened slide (unlike the earlier models) so it can be shot and enjoyed without worry. Additional photos on request. Asking $950/shipped from my FFL to yours, Postal money orders only. First "I'll take it" wins. I will not ship to CA, NY, or any other prohibited areas. Thanks. ***********SPF*************
