I’m a long-time Forum member, but haven’t been on the boards in a while – in fact, over the past few years I have migrated away from shooting my pistols and now I focus mostly on shooting clays – therefore, I am selling off most of what is in the safe including this US Army Model 1917.
I don’t really know the ownership before I bought it, but it letters to Springfield Armory in September 1918. It shows the expected holster wear, but has good mechanical lockup and strong/bright bore. All numbers match including the grips. Now for the “bad” news – the previous owner (not ME!!) put a SSN on right side with electric pencil – I have buffed it out to some degree. Somebody else might be able to do more complete job, or because it is confined to the side-plate, a replacement plate would cure the problem.
However, considering this, my asking price is $xxx now _$700_ shipped, for gun as described above. Buyer to provide certified funds and FFL.
Per Forum Guidelines - first “I’ll take it” posted in thread, confirmed via PM will have precedence.
I am in SW Florida, between Tampa and Naples.
Pictures below – happy to answer any questions.
