I will probably end up regretting this, but I'm looking to gauge interest in this beautiful Bowen-built pinned and recessed 4" 25-5. (If you are unfamiliar with Bowen please peek here: + B O W E N + Bowen Classic Arms - Custom Revolvers, Pistols and Guns Repair and Pistolsmithing.)

This gun is so nice I don't like to shoot it, and I'm trying to get out of 45 LC as well to simplify my ammo situation. The Target stocks are not original to the gun, but everything else is as it came to me from Bowen . It's originally a 1981 vintage gun and has target hammer and trigger.

It's pinned and recessed by virtue of using a Model 29 .44 magnum cylinder reamed out for 45 Colt, with correct .452 throats. Other work done on the gun:
Action/trigger job
Bowen Rough Country sights
Black Powder chamfer on the cylinder
Lanyard loop (not presently installed but included)
Satin refinish
H, T case colored by Turnbull

This adds up to around $1K of work starting with a base 25-5. I'll say my trade value is $1300 for the purposes of a starting point.

I received this gun directly from Bowen and have shot maybe 50 mild lead reloads and a couple cylinders of factory jacketed bullets through it. You can see a mild turn ring in the pics.

I'm most interested in trading this for a Smith and Wesson Model 952 9mm Performance Center semi-auto. Other possibilities could be other S&W Performance Center autos in 9mm or .45 ACP.

I might also be interested in a .38/44 Heavy-Duty or Outdoorsman, or PC revolvers in .357, for example a pre-lock 586 L-Comp. A really nice 3" CS-1 might also be of interest as far as non-PC guns goes.

All trades would obviously be $ +/- as needed. Outside of the above suggestions, if you want to try me, my interests run across rifles, shotguns and handguns. I'm looking to trade for quality and long-term value (high grade bolt guns, over under shotguns, Winchester levers, collectible 1911s?), and prefer blued steel and walnut to the alternative, but you never know.

PM me with any questions or for additional pics. Thanks for looking.
