In Como Park St Paul MN there is a memorial to USS Swordfish that was lost with all hands on its 13th partol toward the end of the war. There is a plaque on the other side listing the 52 subs and 3500 men lost during the war. I am sooo happy my dad's boat returned safely or I wouldn't have my two brothers.

Admiral Richard H O'Kane wrothe a couple of great books on submarine warfare WW2. He was in the same prison camp as Louis Zamperini from the recent movie Unbroken. The books are "Clear the Bridge" and "Wahoo".
