A friend of my has a M-500 that he received as a Christmas gift. It was a used revolver that had been shot very little. After firing the revolver at the range, the compensator became loose. He brought the revolver to me, and luckily I had the generic manual which shows how to remove and install the compensator. Unfortunately someone has stripped the 2.5 allen head screw. I assume the previous owner must have turned the allen head cap screw in the wrong directions. Does this screw have left handed threads? Do you remove the screw from the barrel lug by turning it clockwise? Thanks for the help. Amos

Hi. Turn the screw 2 or 3 turns clockwise, rotate muzzle brake with fingers left or right 1/4 turn. When you re install it, rotate the brake so the notch is down an turn screw till it stops, 2 or 3 turns. Don't overtighten.

Thanks for the reply BillK. I need to know how to remove the screw, as the allen head has been stripped out. I need to get another allen screw. The threads are fine, but the cap head has been damaged where the allen wrench fits into the screw. I need to know if the allen cap head screw has left handed threads. Thanks again. Amos
