Yesterday I had to check what day of the week it was

I retired 2/20/23. Earlier than I wanted to because of a back injury and subsequent surgery. I loose track of days occasionally and the date is even harder to track. My sleep patterns are still horrible from 34 yrs of shift work though.

I retired from full time employment in December. Yesterday, Wednesday, was the first time I had to check to see what day of the week it was. I guess that means my retirement has started to kick in 😃

While I understand the concept, BTDT, I had the same problem when long periods of of 7 days a week was the norm.

Yesterday will always be yesterday. Today? Who cares?

One way of looking at it, when we're retired, is being awake at night doesn't really matter because if we get tired during the day, hey! It's nap time!:)

I relied on my computer's Outlook calendar when I was working. I figured I'd abandon that when I retired. Not so! Seems it's even more important in retirement. Otherwise I wouldn't have a clue what day it is. Every day is Saturday! I have a bunch of irons in the fire and the Outlook calendar keeps me from spacing out and missing things.

I retired in September 2020. Every once in awhile I'll ask my wife what day is it.

6 Saturdays and a Sunday!

I have to enter every appointment and get together in my phone's calender or I don'T show up.

My feelings exactly. I retired December 31, 2015 at 3:30 PM. I have a calendar hanging on the refrigerator to mark appointments, social events and birthdays. They are easy to forget if I don't put them on that calendar.

The last time I retired was 07/2014, and I could care less what day it is. Yet, for some strange reason all my watches have a "date" window.
