Just added a YHM-9396 on my M&P 15. Did not like the idea of the A2 FSB cow-witnessing with my scope. Now I could of used a 1/2" riser but I figured I needed a new look and I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. :)

I am quite happy with it due to the fact it is well made with no such play in it at all. I bought it without bayonet lug and the sling swivel, it looks a little cleaner without them.

Got to get it out and sight it in at the range, but I am sure it will work well. :)

Hello. I would like to do the same setup. I don't own an M&P15 but building my AR15.

I am wondering how did sighting in go? how are the hand guards with the sight? Cycling good?

Seems the gas block/slight is more for rails than standard hand guard set.

I will use a red dot as primary just want backups. Also would this line up with a Magpul rear sight?

I wear gloves during heavy shooting but haven't done much of that since I left the Army.

Sighting it in worked fine, it will work with the Magpul rear sight and with any handguard, drop in are free float. As for getting hot it does not transfer heat at the top where you are going to grab it to flip it up . Now if you are planning to playing around with it in the dark then that might be a different story. I have not yet got burned, my advice be careful. :)
