Since it's not very far away, I like to go to the gun show at the York Fairgrounds. Things started off pretty well as the lady who usually stamps hands at the admission table greeted me warmly because I hadn't been there for awhile. She remembers me because she likes the Golden Dollars I pay my admission fee with.
From what I heard yesterday the show was wall to wall, but today looked to be comfortably moderate. Gun prices looked more reasonable, fair prices could be found on ammunition, but components still seemed a lot higher than what I was used to. The best deal on primers I saw was $80 a brick, and I saw some powder for $35 a pound, but I recognized the packaging as being pretty old. Newer vintage powder started at $43 a pound.
I didn't get to peruse the whole show, because it closed at 3:00 PM and I was probably doing more yakking with vendors I knew than shopping. Being that I try to eat at a consistent schedule, I stopped off at the VFW west of York for lunch. So it was a beautiful day to be out and about, and even though I didn't buy anything today I had a nice time.
