One thing I miss being on a Keto diet is having bread or buns. Bread products are a no-no. I miss having my cheeseburgers on a bun.
I came across this Keto mug bread that I figure can be used to make a Keto bun so I can have my cheeseburgers. The recipe was not for making a bun but I figure it can be. I made one in less than a couple minutes and it was ummmm good.
Ingredients: 1 tbsp melted butter, 1 tbsp coconut flour, 1 tbs flaxseed meal, 1/2 tbsp hemp seeds, 1 tsp shelled sunflower or pumpkin seeds, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 large egg, 1 tbsp coconut milk or water, 1 pinch salt.
Mix all in a bowl, that inside is about size of a bun, till it is well mixed and thick. Push the mix, if any, down from the sides of the bowl so it is level.

Put it in a microwave on high for 90 seconds. When done it will be sort of spongy when you press your finger in the middle. If it isn't spongy then it probably needs a bit more time to be done. Don't over do it or you will have a rock.

Remove from microwave and run a fork around the internal sides and bottom of bowl to lossen the bread. Turn bowl upside down on a plate so bun drops out from bowl. Let it sit about a minute or two so it cools and sets up a bit more. Then cut it in half making the top and bottom. Now you have your burger bun. If you put your burger meat in the pan it is probably ready to put on your bun and add the fixins to it.
Don't tell me I can't have my cheeseburger and still be Keto.

I do the Trim Heart Healthy Diet. It's very similar to an updated Dr. Atkin's diet.

I am allowed (about every other week) a (as in one and only one!) hamburger served on Russian rye or Sour Dough toast. The beacon, sautéed mushrooms and Swiss Cheese; I'm allowed anytime but, when it has been months since you had any form of one of your favorite foods.. the first bite is like a glorious sunrise!

Good one, jimmyj. :D

When I saw the thread title my first thought was that someone was walking a tight line with getting in trouble with the Big Gorilla, talking about someone's buns.

For great buns get a barbell and do some squats and some lunges. For great Keto Pancakes get 2 eggs, 2 bananas, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp vanilla, 2 tablespoons Pamela's gluten free nut flower, mix on low, and add cinnamon or blueberries or whatever you want and cook on griddle with a little olive oil. Add lots of butter and lite syrup and they taste better than anything IHOP makes.

Bananas I thought are not Keto friendly. Unreal sugar/carb/ glucose spikes. From what I read bananas will knock you right out of ketosis. I am going to be making sugar free maple syrup using Stevia tea mixed with maple syrup extract for Keto made pancakes. I will soon find out if it tastes good.
I have lost 20+ pounds and I have 20 more to get rid of. If I would quit cheating I would have already lost 30 not just 20. I will get it off though.

Thanks for the bun recipe. It’s take out pizza I can’t live without. Just so handy for a quick meal.

I know I can make my own. But it’s the takeout convenience that I need.

Yeah, bananas are a little high in carbs but that recipe will make six pancakes so you are eating less than one banana with two pancakes. It's not something you should eat every day but if you are craving pancakes I will eat them once or twice a week and I don't get out of ketosis and am still losing weight. They are delicious so the big problem is stopping at only eating two at a meal.

Update on the buns.
They don't even come in as a close 2nd to regular buns.
I thought I would tell that before someone tried them and thought they sucked as a a replacement for regular buns. they are real dense compared to the real buns. I didn't cut it in half so I made another one for the top. They don't have hardly any smoosh factor like a white flour bun. The taste isn't all that great either I guess because there is hardly any sweetness to them. Maybe just use them as a low carb muffin snack would be better with globs of jelly on them. LOL.

That's the problem with a lot of the Keto diet food, it tastes awful. I didn't have any problem giving up bread but when we eat in a restaurant and they bring out that hot, oven baked bread that smells so good it's hard to resist. I usually eat a half of a roll or biscut and put a lot of butter on it and enjoy it. I cheat a few times a week on my diet and am only losing about a pound every 10 days but I'm O.K. with that because I enjoy what I eat and only have about 5 more pounds to go.

Nowadays I eat bread occasionally as I am reasonably content with where my weight is at. But when I was working hard at losing it, and wanted a cheese burger, I’d wrap it in lettuce.
