I moved on to the 100 and 200 yard ranges yesterday after having zeroed the rifle at 50 yards in doors for irons and the SPARC-2.

The results, using 3 kinds of ammo ( 55 & 62 gr. 5.56 and 55gr .223) were roughly the same but I still like the 55gr 5.56.

1. I leave the iron sights alone because they are zeroed for 50 yards.
2.Are target standardized for quick adjustments like this Army Zero @ 25yrds
3.Would the clicks on the target translate to the clicks on the SPARC-2 or do you adjust, shoot, repeat. The target will be ball park.
4. co-witnessing out to 200 yards?

100 yards

200 yards

Vortex says that the Sparc-2 has 1 MOA adjustments. It looks like your targets have 1" squares, so figure I adjustment per inch at 100 yards or 1 adjustment for 2" at 200 yards.

Hate to say it, but your groups are so large (6" at 100 and 10" at 200) that finding the center of the group to figure how far to move the scope for zero will be difficult at best. You're going to have to shoot, adjust, shoot, repeat until you are happy.

I apologize for being so picky, but Military zero is done at 25 meters, not yards. Done at 25 meters, the target is 7.08 feet farther away. If you zero your irons and the Sparc at that range, your POA and POI will be the same at 250 meters. No further adjustment should be required. From there, practice, practice, practice! Work on breathing, trigger control, and get those groups to close up a bit.

Good Luck and good shooting. :D

the targets are alittle mis-leading..they were 3-rnd sets around 2-3 inch groups for the 100yrds and about 3-4 @ 200yrds, using different ammo sets...I was going to the range to work on this today but got caught up with projects ....thanks for looking and commenting!!!

Hey so following Michgan Scott and the Vortex user manual I made adjustments today at the 100 and didn't bother going down to the 200 yrd range.

Accurate and fairly precise at 100 yards with a Vortex SPARC II.
The dot was just slightly off at 50 yards so I have to aim 1/2 a DOT to the left to get a "good enough for me grouping".

After that, I just started shooting at this 8" metal target at 100 yards for the rest of the day....I have put nearly 400 rounds through my MP-SPORT and now that I an intimate with it I have to say I feel very confident withg this rifle . AND you know WHAT? It's only going to get better!!!

I added an "H" buffer to it last week and I want to go for the H3 or a 9mm buffer to throw in there and then sell the ones I don't want...

MAN-for anyone on the fence about this rifle-I talked to a guy on the range today who paid almost $800 for a more popular rifle, added the quad rails and a freakin EOTECH red dot, oh and he had this cool pod thing on it and when he was all done he liked my rifle with my red dot and my MAGPUL carbine feel to the hand guard instead of his harsh-really expensive quad rail.

I have minimal extras that just make it feel comfortable to hold, carry and shoot!

cheers:cool:
