WTB Speer .357 160 and 146 Grain JSWC
Hi.
Speer discontinued these a few years back. I am looking for the Speer .357 caliber 160 grain and 146 jacketed semiwadcutters [the 146 was a hollowpoint].
I would buy partial boxes as well.
If the price is reasonable I would like to buy them.
Thanks.

Semperfi, I apologize for taking so long. I checked and could not find any of either. Several years ago I bought out an old shooting buddy and took everything I didn't want to a gun show and sold it. I believe I may have included those bullets. I tried both back in the 70's and didn't like having to spend so much time trying to get an accurate crimp on the 146 gr. It was a royal pain. Stuck them back and forgot them along with the 160's. I will keep my eye open for some and if I come across any, I'll snag them and let you know.

Thank you 50 Target. Yes those old Speer jacketed SWC's are a bit challenging to crimp well. But it can be done. I am getting excellent accuracy in my M27-2 3 1/2 bbl'ed .357 with the 160 grainers.

Wow, I didn't realize they discontinued them. Did they discontinue the 44s also?

Dumb question are they the same as Speer 160 grain Jacketed soft point?
If they are I have a box I would part with.

Thank you K38,
If they are .357 semi-jacketed semi-wadcutters that be them. The jacket stops short of the semi-wadcutter part and the rest is exposed lead.
I would be interested and thanks.

That is them. If you PM me your address I will get them out to you. No payment needed.
I bought a box of assorted bullets and these were in there. My .38s love the Hornady XTP and thats what I was after.

semperfi - Do you have a few (5-6) of the 146gr HP version? I have a buddy who can make a swage die to make these at home. I have the 44-cal 225grs on my shelves still, but I have none of the 146es. I need to send him some samples to measure and look at to make the die and punches.
