Can you be a little more specific about your wants/needs for reloading rifles? This is like saying "I want to buy a vehicle after walking for a while." You could be wanting to get a donkey cart or a Maserati. What kind of volume will you be loading, will it be one caliber or several, will you shoot precision target, plink, or hunt, etc. I can only speak for myself, but my reloading set ups (and yes, there are several) are rather specialized within the parameters outline above for various of my needs and wants.

Gary,

I am going on the assumption that you don't want to "jump in" at the $500 level, but then again you might want to go directly to Maserati! What I wondered was whether you want a single stage or turret press (on the assumption that you don't want a progressive for rifle) and again, how many calibers and what volume you are considering. If you want to get started on the cheap, Lee has a couple of kits that have "everything you need" and people are moving up from those all the time; then Lee, Lyman, and RCBS offer larger and higher end sets to go as top-end as you want.

Since you have previous experience with reloading, I guess you have at least some idea of what you want to get, so that's where we can start. As I mentioned, I use several complete and dedicated set-ups, but my needs change, and there are a couple of Smiths I'm looking to trade toward, so some of the no-longer-needed stuff could be assembled into a package to fill your current needs.
