The only way I can get one is if I buy it used from someone already in California--you can't ship one in from out of state.

Silly, really, that the 3913LS, the EXACT same gun with "Lady Smith" etched in the slide, IS legal in California...the LS is easier to find, but I'm holding out for the NL (no logo) model.
