Hard to tell but I don't think that it is a S&W. Could be my eyes or my monitor but that does not look like a S&W emblem at the top of the stocks.

Of what can be identified, that trigger guard does not resemble any of the S&Ws of that era. Trigger mid guard would give the the impression it is a double action. Likely a H&R or one of many other "like type" copies.

The revolver is a "Secret Service Special" made by various manufacturers ( Iver Johnson, Meridan, Hopkins & Allen, H & R, etc. ) for the Fred Biffar Co., of Chicage. Buffer's grip logo was the three letters entertained " SSS." as seen on the grip circles in the poster's photo. These were made in the late 1890s and early 20th century era. 1,000 were made and sold. Ed.
