Anyone an expert on Heiser holsters?
I was wondering if anyone in the forum might be somewhat of an expert on Heiser holsters. I have a line on a matched set of Heiser Model 752 hinged holsters that would work well with a couple of my revolvers but know little about value.
I don't seem to be able to place a photo directly into this text space but "believe" I've attached it...somehow...though could be severely mistaken.
If an expert/collector of Heiser holsters can see the photo and advise me what a ballpark fair price for the set would be I would certainly appreciate it.
3/4/2010: I've added a couple more pictures if it helps. Also several members have mentioned "Turnerriver" as a real expert here on the forum (thanks to all who have provided allthe great info). Unfortunately more comfortable at the range than in front of a computer and not sure how to direct contact (if allowed) in this forum. Any assist there for a computer dork...but learning.

Reason: Adding photos. REquesting additional info.

Those are wonderful! turnerriver is the resident holster guru and has graciously helped me before. I don't know what they're worth, but I'd gladly drop $200 for either one.

As Chad stated, turnerriver is the man. I have a number of Heisers, most of which were purchased before the current market price escalation occurred. I still actively pursue them and have a pretty good feel for current values. I think that,at auction, those holsters would bring $700 to $900. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

BTW,I don't believe that the silver conchos are original to the holsters.

One big determinant of value is what size gun it fits. Heiser made a wide variety of holsters to fit all sorts of revolvers and automatics. As with everything, if it accepts an N frame, its worth about twice what it would be worth for almost anything else but a SAA. Even if you've got a K to go in it, the asking price and the market value is seriously lower.
Keep in mind the numbers stamped on the underside don't relate to the gun its made to hold. They pretty much indicate style and finish.

Those holsters look as heavy as the gun that go`s in them.

They are high quality. I had one in a floral carving that fit a 3 1/2" Pre 27 which unfortunately I parted with in a fit needing money for some other purchase. I hope the buyer is still as happy with it as he was when he got it.
