Default STING OPERATION

Yesterday, about 3:00 in the afternoon, the wife called me to the kitchen. She was looking out the bay windows in the breakfast area. She says,"this is really weird, what's going on". I look out and see a large ( really large elect co size) boom truck parked across the street. It has no company name or identification decal anywhere. Two guys, not wearing any uniform, instead wearing casual clothes not work clothes, are riding in the elevated bucket. The truck is parked at the military crest of a hill (just below the peak), the boom is elevated about 40 feet up, no power lines or light poles anywhere near. The two guys in the bucket are looking thru binoculars at something in the distance. They are carrying on a conversation as they watch. One guy lowers his glasses and starts giving hand signals to someone not in view.

This goes on for maybe ten minutes then the boom lowers, the two guys get out of the bucket grab the two emergency markers which had been improperly placed too close to the truck to have done any good , throw them in the back then move out of view behind the truck. They stay behind the truck for what seemed a long time. Next they get in the truck and drive off. They drove down the street and turned the corner, out of view.

Don't know what was going on, but with all the Law Enforcement presence in this border town, I bet it was some kind of Fed sting operation going down. Wish I was privy.

Probably two utility company supervisors trying to catch one of their workers taking 30 seconds too long on a job.

ALL the utility company trucks in Virginia have their logo's on the trucks. Most workers have uniforms & all have ID badges. Something sounds fishy. Should have got the plate # & called the cops.

El Paso is better than 85% Hispanic, these were Anglos with military style hairdoos (high and tight), did not look like the typical worker bees and I only live about three miles from the border. Forty feet up from a boom truck on that hill, you could easily see the border.

Yeah, I saw on Dateline where the Mexican drug cartels have really infiltrated that area. I murder a day in some cases, it looks like they might have been running surveillance on someone.

Why didn't you just go ask them what's up? Most of all nefarious activities will be halted once they realize that people know they are there. So, if it was something amiss, that might have prevented it.

People who are doing something innocuous will usually gladly tell you what they're up to. This is also good because it will allay any suspicions you might have had.

Some of the worst thugs I've ever met come similarly cropped. I'd have called it in.

Could be anything. Could be a company putting up a sign and wanted to see if it's visible/blocking anything, from a distance

Were the tires deflated?
Who were they looking at with the binoculars?
Can you see Phoenix from the top of that hill?
