Have you ever walked out on a movie?
The closest I came to was watching the Will Farrell/Nicole Kidman film "Bewitched" while on a Boeing 737...lucky for me, they lock the doors on the aircraft while in flight

Yep. Endless Love with Brook Shields. Even the promise of Ms Shields in her birthday suit was not enough to hold me. That movie was the absolute worst.

Should've walked out of The Rock with Nicholas Cage.
If I would walked out of Django Unchained if I saw it in a theater. But, I saw it at home and it was neat to see where it was filmed (eastern sierras) as I was living in Bishop at the time.

I haven't since I've been an adult, but on more than one occasion I should have.
If you told me that Charlie Sheen wrote "Year of the Dragon" while high on cocaine, I'd believe you without question. And I passed up that Frankenstein movie with Jennifer Beals to see that trainwreck too...
I didn't hate "The Thin Red Line" as much as my best friend from college, but then I'm not married to a Korean and don't have that level of encouragement to be enraged by overly sympathetic treatment of the WWII era Japanese. I simply found it aimless and with no meaning to speak of.
Ironically, both of these cinematic debacles were two of the most beautifully filmed movies I've ever seen. What a waste, like James Wong Howe spending $100,000,000 to do a ten minute porn loop...

I actually enjoyed that one, although it was more gory than I usually enjoy. I thought it was pretty good parody.
I vaguely recall being disappointed that they didn't use Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" in the soundtrack. It's been so long since I saw, it I can't remember whether they actually did or not.

I've seen more than that, but I think the last new movie I went to see was "John Carter of Mars".
I'll probably go see the new "Jack Reacher" movie.

My God man, that movie had one of the greatest lines ever. "The difference between winners and losers, Losers snivel, I did my best. Winners **** the prom Queen."
Yes, the rest of the movie was trash, but Sean Connery delivering that line was worth the price of admission many times over.
As someone who returned to school at 50 + years old, I can't recount the number of times I reminded both students and staff of the above. Students just gave me a strange look, the staff, just left me alone, then gave me a passing grade.

No, but I was asked to stop snoring during Ishtar and Battlefield Earth.
I stayed awake for The English Patient because I knew Ruthie would grill me on it later.

Quick Change was the first movie I remember walking out on.
The Point Break remake was the most recent.

Heh, after walking about 3 miles at night-cold foggy weather-and I walked out after about 10-15 minutes. I never cared to watch any sequals either. I spent the time in the lobby speaking with some cute girl that sold me the ticket.
Now I remember Nr 2! it was: The Boogins.

SO, YOU were one of those two who paid to see it? I remember when the trailer for that movie was being played before some movie I was to see-started.

The English Patient--dragged by a woman, but not even Marylin Monroe would be worth sitting though that abomination.

Several over the years. Quit going to movie theaters about 10 yrs. ago, but about 5 yrs. ago went to see "World War Z" featuring Brad Pitt. The posters on the movie theater wall looked interesting. About 10 minutes after it started we looked at each other and I said, "Let's give it another 5 minutes." She agreed and we sat there for another 5 minutes. We didn't say a word to each other. We just got up and rushed out of there. I told my wife later the if that was the watermark for today's movie making, I will never watch another. .... And, I haven't...........

Twice.
My first wife and another couple and I went to see "True Grit" (the Wayne version) at a drive-in. Glen Campbell was so awful that the four of us agreed to leave, and did. Early on.
The other was that travesty, the Beatty-Dunaway "Bonnie And Clyde". Saw it in a theater, by myself. I was so nauseated by its complete disregard for the truth about those twisted little punks, and they way they prettied up a vicious killer and the airhead dumb enough to be besotted with him. that I walked out about half an hour into the mess.

After seeing that movie, Ruthie said I would never have to prove my love for her again.
So, I've got that going for me.
Which is nice.

Only one time did I ever walk out of a movie that I paid good money to see till the end.
1985, "Out of Africa", Redford, worst thing he probably ever did.
Couldn't sit through it, left money on the table and walked.

I walked out on the "Cape Fear" remake. Even though De Niro was the protagonist, I just didn't like where the whole "violent sex offender" thing seemed to be headed, and I voted with my feet. I hadn't seen the first one and didn't know anything about the story when I sat down in the theater.
There was another I would have walked out on, but my ride wanted to stay: "Bolero". What a piece of garbage. And boring, too.

99% of the movies I watch are on TCM, GetTV, and the other old movie channel.
The last new movie I watched was "Spectre" on Epix or one of the other non-premium movie channels I get.
Most new movies appear to have been written by drug addicted marmots for an audience of retarded skinks with VERY short attention spans.

I agree with cmort666 about the current class of movies today. I walked out of the first Nic Cage movie I saw and never watched another. Lousiest actor I've ever seen. Latest was 'The Intern'. My girlfriend and I both left about 30 minutes in. I watch movies on the premium channels now and shut them off
more often than not.

Close but no cigar. The first movie he was either in-or starred in-was a very lousy movie about the Korean War. I tried stomaching it when TCM showed it around 12-14 years ago. The best thing about it was John Saxon. The next worse has to be: The Electric Horseman.

We very rarely go to a movie...my wife can't usually sit through a full movie, although there is one theater about 30 miles away that has reclining seats that she can tolerate. We usually just watch Netflix and Amazon Prime, or streaming sites.
As for "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" movies...my two sons and I have read and loved these books for many years. I read them before they were born, and introduced them to these books when they were old enough to appreciate them. We went to each of these movies the night they opened (my wife didn't go...she's never read the books) and found them excellent renditions of the books. We couldn't have been more pleased... I understand that the genre may not appeal to everyone, but Peter Jackson produced and directed masterpieces and we enjoyed them very much.

Only one movie ever. My parents took my sister and I to see the movie "A Christmas Story." I was twelve, I don't really remember it, other than thinking it was a little slow. My parents thought it sucked and decided we were walking. So we did.
It's funny how many people love that movie, I've never even seen the whole thing.

You've got to actually be FROM Cleveland AND be into it.
I've lived in NE Ohio since '86, but grew up in Chiraq. I have about as much nostalgia for Cleveland in the '50s and '60s as I do for Ljubljana in the '50s and '60s. I have no emotional ties to the time and place. I just shrug and go on about my business.

Ruthie, my daughters and I have all read and re-read all of Tolkein's works. We all agree that the books translated very well to the screen.
Although the Battle of the Five Armies turned into a protracted Stratego game.

I've always regretted that the same team didn't do Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Mars" books.
A well done "A Princess of Mars" could put the "Lord of the Rings" in the shade.

The only movie I have ever walked out of was Gone With The Wind when I was 5 years old. I thought it was boring and I wanted to see an Elvis movie.
I love going to the movies! Even though the popcorn is always stale because they don't make fresh popcorn anymore and there is always some Shmuck who just can't go two hours without his cell phone and I have to get up and tell him to turn it off. I still enjoy the movies. You just can't beat a forty foot screen.

Don't know the name of the movie. It's somewhere in the 80's.
Christopher Reeves and Michael
Caine lip locking on scene. My Parents dragged us out of the movie theater.
My mother was horrified.

Heh heh, better see than smell them. I remember that most of the gear used in War Hunt--wasnt even correct. Redford's acting in it was also terrible and no way to see the actor he later became.

Great line. Connery did have all the good lines in that film. For some reason I was partial to "Welcome to The Rock!" I remember annoying my friends for months afterwards with that line when answering my front door.
And the car chase through San Francisco. I know it's politically correct among movie connoisseurs to be all excited about the one in "Bullitt", but that airborne cable car was something else.
As for walking out of movies, I don't remember ever doing that. I either knew enough about the movie that the situation didn't occur, or I went to a movie that wasn't my choice with somebody else, and the somebody else was usually more important than whatever happened on the screen .
Since I'm netflixing/streaming, I peek into a lot of movies that I end up not watching, but I guess that doesn't have the gravity of walking out of one you've driven to and paid for.

I love going to the movies! Even though the popcorn is always stale because they don't make fresh popcorn anymore and there is always some Shmuck who just can't go two hours without his cell phone and I have to get up and tell him to turn it off. I still enjoy the movies. You just can't beat a forty foot screen.

The first time I saw it-I THOUGHT it was going to be a real War movie with plenty of action-boy was I wrong. Fast forward about 10 years (which was about 30 years ago) they showed it as a matinee summer movie-so my friend Sy and I went to see it. It didnt change my opinion any-and we mostly payed attention to that gallon bucket of popcorn we each had-and the candy.

I haven't, but I did start snoring during "Fool's Gold", which my wife had dragged me to.
I've always thought it interesting how one man's "worst movie ever" is another's "favorite of all time"!

I don't remember the last time I walked into a movie theatre!! I can't stand sitting there with a bunch of strangers that are busy stuffing their faces like pigs, rather than watching the movie, making all kinds of food related noises unwrapping, chewing like they have not been fed for days, talking etc... Who needs that when you can sit in your family room and watch just about anything you want in the privacy of your own home with no one bothering you and pop a cold one to boot.

Walked out of a movie about 35yrs ago.Was waiting in line to buy tickets with my now ex-wife when a young couple offered us their tickets for free.Just thought they had an emergency of some kind so never gave it any further thought. That was before multiplex theaters so you didn't have multiple choices to see something else.
At least the few minutes of agony we sat trough didn't cost anything.
