Actually it is a Tapco, They call it their Sling System it comes with multiple ways of attachment and can be quickly converted from 2 point to 1 point, I am usually not a fan of anything Tapco but it was a gift and I am pretty surprised at how much I like it.

All I did was bend it backwards a little. Locking it down in a clamp and slowly bending it with channel locks did the trick really easily.

Which handguard is that? It looks good. A little long for me, but looks quite good, nonetheless.

I'm going to stick with my mid-length MOE handguard until I can squirrel away enough change to get a VLTOR CASV-EL.

That hand guard is awesome. I may have to just pick one of those.

Thanks

It's actually a knock-off Aimpoint. I can't think of the company off had, but it holds it's zero pretty well. I just use it as a fast way to co-witness.

Belt Fed's charging handle. Great guy to do business with.

Advanced Tactial camera. Got it yesterday and played with it in the back yard. Hope to get to the range this weekend and get some "action" shots.

They are a great compact alternative to a VFG on lower recoil rifles, it does take a shot or two to get the feel for it, its somewhere in between holding just the handguard and a true VFG, I have no complaints whatsoever with them on the rifles I have them on.

I love mine. I chopped it down because place my pinky behind the back nub, ring and middle finger inside, index infront of the afg, and I wrap my thump around the handguard. I'm able to maintain perfect control the whole time

I use an RFG now. I'm just pretty much broke and looking for people's opinions before I spend the money.

That basic Magpul Dynamics style is what I use with the thumb over the top of the handguard. I may have to buy one.

Thanks! [/hijack]

I had posted pics of my rifle well over half a year ago roughly, in various states of "being done" lol( cant exactly remember how long it really has been) Any way here it is, as it sits today. Its finally "finished" umm.. I think.. lol.

First off, THANKS for the compliment( Ive got more in the ad-ons than the rifles base cost, as Im SURE lots of us do lol) Now to answer your question. As far as the shroud goes, Its merely a fake can as far as what brand it is.. well.. it isnt lol. I got it off of eBay about a year ago for around 12 bucks shipped. Its just aluminum, that is threaded properly to fit any rifle that has the same threading as the 15-22 does.

As far as the sight, its a G&P Eotech 552 clone ( got sued and now dont mfg. these any more, from what I hear). Its held a PERFECT zero so far, on BOTH my 15-22 and my .223 AR 15(what I used to see how well it holds zero with any amount of recoil, didnt move at all after slightly 300 rounds on the .223) so now its permanant home is my 15-22.

Here are a few shots of it in use. Notice that it doesnt have any "ghosting" as alot of the Eotech clones are know to tend to have. Id say on any given day, this clone has more than lived up to the uses I've had for it. Its the BEST 90-100 bucks I've spent on any firearm to date. By the way, Please forgive my wife's HOT PINK camera's reflection lol. If your wondering how accurate it really is( being a clone) This is a thread I made last November( when I sighted it in for the 15-22) Finally sighted in my G&P Eotech 552 clone.

Thats actualy the Bipod's leg, it looks like its part of the flashlight,( on the actual right of the rifle..left in the picture as the rifle is pointed pside down) Its an optical illusion I suppose. If you look at 3rd then the 4th picture, you can see it as it really is. If you look CLOSE at the 3rd picture, you can see the other Bipod leg, slightly sticking out from the directly behind the barrel

Yes it is. When I got mine the threaded barrel version was hard to come by so I went with the standard barrel and found this one piece slip on flash hider.

Default My contribution to this pic forum

Here is my recipe:

- 1x S&W MP 15-22
- Bushnell Trophy 1x32 red dot scope
- CAA adjustable cheek riser
- CAA folding front grip
- UTG bipod (Model: TL-BP28ST)
- Magpul XTM rail covers
- 3x ProMag couplers
- 2x S&W 10 round shorty mags
- 2x S&W 25 round mags
- Tactical Crayola

I'd like to dismantle the mags and paint the orange followers black. Any thoughts on doing that and/or how to go about it?

You might try boiling the followers in black RIT dye like we used to use on our radio control car wheels.

Default Finally dialed in

So I got it 2 days ago, been running CCI exclusively. Very happy. Took it and my daughter to the range today to site it in, not sure if you can make it out but the groups are her shooting at 50 yds after I got it sighted in.....pretty happy.

sorry if the pics are bad, there from my phone

Unfortunately the rife, as it stands, is classified by NY state as an assault rifle and illegal. So I have had to park it over the state line until I can 'fix' it. I have already traded the barrel out with a guy to get the untreaded version and I'm looking into either pinning the stock (not my first choice) or changing it for the Magpul PRS version.
Does watching The Little Mermaid help with your grouping?

Here is my first and only rifle. Got it last October and I caress it lovingly on a weekly basis.
-Walther PS-22 red dot
-Surefire flashlight mount with Fenix PD30
-CAA Stock Saddle (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
-Hogue AR grip
-Troy Industries rail cover
-Magpul XTM covers

Thinking of doing a Shoe Goo mod on the back of the Stock, to add grip on my shoulder while shooting. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the comments guys, but I like it just how it is. I know the cantilever may be backwards, but since I don't have a magnifier and the performance isn't degraded, I'm not bothered. And the same with the front sight, nothing has degraded, and I think it just looks better this way.
I've decided on the shoe goo, I'll show my finished project this weekend.

I've been lurking for a while but I finally picked up a threaded version last week off gunbroker as I've given up waiting for the MOE one. It's my first rifle/gun I've ever owned and I already can't help myself slapping on gear on this platform. Planning on adding a Primary Arms M4 red dot next, but I think I'll learn how to shoot w/ the irons for a bit first.

Default Some 15-22 Porn for You

I think I'm done with my low cost loadout. Got her new eyes all sighted in at the range today, and she asked for a photoshoot while she was still hot.

Here's what I added onto her:

DBoys Rail Covers
- LOVE them. They look great, fit great, and make the rifle a lot more grippable for my big hands.

DBoys Carry Handle - Kinda like it. The finish is black paint that chips easily. I really had to jam the scope in, and if I try hard I can still get it to wiggle. If I did it again, I would probably try a different handle (I might still).

NC Star 4x22 scope with carry handle mount - Like it a lot. It's very sharp and clear, the mil spec recticle is great, the eye relief is good, and the build is solid. I really had to jam it into the handle, but I'll bet it's the cheap handle that is the culprit. I like it on top of the handle, my eye seems to reach there naturally. The mount is see through, so you can still use the irons. And you can't beat the price!

Tapco orange front sight post - Like it a lot. Gives improved visibility against black targets

Hogue Grip - Love it. Super comfortable. Fills my big hands better than the stock grip. My only issue is that is doesn't have a hole for the takedown pin spring, so it doesn't fit like factory, and the pin will start to work itself out after a few hundred rounds. I think I just need to disassemble it and seat it better. The grip is fantastic, though!

Default Custom Paint Subdued style

I couldnt wait to get my magpul stuff in. I had to do something and didnt really like the desert tan that I always see. I wear a subdued uniform for work so I did the same with my glock and my M&P. Ill post more as I clean up my little imperfections and add more to the weapon.

That front sight post is pretty sweet. Are they plastic? How do they perform for you?

They are plastic. They behave just like the factory sight, except more visible in low light or against darker targets. I also bought a cheap front sight tool from Amazon which made changing them out really easy.
