M&P 22 Magazine Disconnect
Just curious as to how many have removed the magazine disconnect on their M&P 22?

Being a rimfire, it would be a bad idea to remove the mag disconnect safety in my opinion.

Why is that? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dry firing will damage the gun. It's nice to pop out the mag out and not have worry about accidently dropping the hammer on an empty chamber or worse.

I guess you'd have to know why the OP wants to remove it then, since nothing was mentioned about dry firing. OP?

So, again, has anybody removed the magazine disconnect from their MP22?

Bringin it back.
Has anyone removed the mag safety on an M&P 22 or 22Compact?
Does it improve the trigger?
Safety lectures are implied - thank you for your time.
A.

Yes I have. Technically it should have taken a little weight off, but it's really not noticeable.

Thx TC. Was it difficult or just a "pop-out" piece like a Buckmark?

I'm following this, too. I'd like to hear about any appreciable improvement in the Compact's trigger pull (my only gripe about this little gem).

The good news is the magazine disconnect on the Compact takes literally two minutes to remove. It has no impact on trigger feel, but it removes a major PITA.

Thanks for the link, it adds food for thought. Since the Umarex and Smith models are so very different internally, I was looking for a Smith-specific resolution to the trigger grit.
Guess I'll just have to strip things down and polish some contact surfaces. Pull weight is okay, and the mag disconnect isn't really a problem, but with ammo availability the way it is these days, I don't care to wear things in to their proper feel over the next thousand, if I can do it at the bench in an hour of spare tome.
