Shorty 9
I don't normally do this, but....
Have you seen the Shorty 9 over on GI since yesterday? A fellow in Maine is offering it. These don't come along every day, so just thought I would pass it along....
Edit: GI is GunsInternational dot com. And no, I'm not the guy selling it.

What a beauty! And its really not priced that high, considering what it is. I would love to have it, because to maintain parity in the three calibers I have & shoot, I need another 9mm & two more 45's. Otherwise the 40's will start thinking they rule the roost.

Chip.....ITS MINE, YOU CANT HAVE IT! Haha! I was first to contact him, my check is on a Fedex truck to him right now. I was going to post ques here about this gun after I got it that I can't find answer/explanation for anywhere else but will do so now. I have a PC9, also known as Shorty9, that has std Novak sites and no marking designating "Shorty9" or "PC9" on slide. This GI gun is NIB, has adjustable rear site and is lasered or engraved "Shorty9" on end of slight near muzzle. The few Shorty/PC9's I have ever seen were not set up as this one is....anyone know whether there were separate production runs or Lew Horton orders that would explain this? Can't find anything in my S&W text or online.

Two sites are standard use on the Shorties, they used a Novak carry site on some models and a LPA on others. As far as production, I am not sure I have a 2XX serial numbered Shorty 40 and have seen later run models listed with Novaks and some earlier models with the same sites. Of course I do not know if the owner changed the sites or not but some left the Smith and Wesson Performance Center with LPA adjustable sites and some left with Novaks. I really do not think there is a rhyme or reason on which numbers where which but they are limited guns and do not hit the market very often (500ish is the production number made in batches). It is a piece you should be proud of. Congrats.

Well I'll be, Jeff..... Glad you were the winner on this one!
Adding these to your stable of other PC guns, you've amassed quite a Shorty collection there, my friend! And for someone to have not just one, but TWO, Shorty 9's is pretty dang near incredible!
Others can explain the ins and outs of the different versions that are sorta collectively called "Shorty 9", but let me be the first...no wait....second to congratulate you on a great purchase. I think the price was more than fair, considering.
I wasn't ever seriously considering buying it, so rest easy! I just thought it was cool to have appeared "of a sudden" on a site.
Nice work, there, my friend!
In case it's helpful, here's a thread I started about a year ago after seeing a PC9 on GB and not knowing what it was...
Tell me what 3rd Gen this is?

I went to the site but it is down for maintenance. If you don't mind sharing what was the price?

Congrats...... I've had my 2 since the mid'90s...... one is a great gun....the other is a safe queen I picked up used but "unfired" as a back up.
(a little more info in Vigil's other thread mentioned above)
$1,250 wow...... did you get a 12 and 15 round magazine ? both of mine came that way.
To me one of the nicest things about these guns...... no "billboards" on the slides...... just nice, clean and all business........

BAMBAM---3mags, not sure of capacity (have not received gun yet). My other PC9 mags are 12 rnd and look like the 2 in photo. Yeah, $1250 hurt a little but think these guns are worth it, especially NIB. Couldn't afford many more at that price though! Have been looking for awhile and not many (esp. NIB) come up that frequently. When they do, they are typically snapped up pretty quick, at even higher prices than I paid. My PC9 gets frequent use but think this one is relegated to safe duty!

Congrats again........ like I said both of mine came with one of the 15 round mags with the "spacer" or whatever S&W called it........
Your next quest should be for one of the PC SD-9s....... all stainless steel w/ a 6900 frame topped with a 4 1/4 inch barrel...... shoots like a 9mm....22lr.

jfd........ good luck!
There are several different thought on the SD guns...... but I think most would agree there are less than 250 of each calibers...... some say as few as 100.

One of the greatest 3rd gens of all time and worth every penny.
What other production/performance gun can you buy that is similar that wouldn't be close to that price?
