Never understood snubbylove on N frames. Looks kinda ridiculous to me, but YMMV. Guess some people love muzzle flash.

In any event, don't bubba your gun. Want a 44 snub? Sell yours and buy one.

Yup. You can buy 3-inch 629s all day long. I love mine—it’s the perfect tool for the job of ‘trail gun’ and is pleasant to shoot with 44 Special, and not overly punishing with 44 Mag if equipped with Pachmayr grips. Plenty of people would happily buy your 4-inch 629 if you don’t want to keep both.

Does the OP really mean a 2-inch
barrel? Since nearly half the barrel will
be within the frame of the gun,
only 1-inch will stick out beyond the
frame.

How about a 2.75-inch barrel?

But the best idea is a 4-inch barrel.

Good point, barrel length is actually measured from the cylinder face to end of barrel.

Your gun, your money, your choice but for the money buying what you want is the best buy. A M-69 shorty or a factory 3" makes a lot of sense...............
