looking for reading and watching material. Mostly watching. Loved Longmire for example.

The Reacher Series is just a Dandy!
It’s On Amazon Prime as is the already mentioned excellent Bosch.
Godless is also a Great mini-series, on Netflix.

Bosch on Amazon Prime.

Fantastic detective series and I normally hate police type series/movies.

A lot of this series is very, very close to real life stuff.

,

Love Bosch books/show. Also Lincoln Lawyer books. Show watchable.

Have you tried the Joe Pickett books by C. J. Box. His first one was in 2001 and he is now up to book #23 in early 2023.

There was also a TV series started last year. I really looked forward to it but it was terrible (IMHO). I've heard a second season has been okayed with some changes being made. Sure hope so as the books are top shelf.

Gotta say... ++++++++++++++

Best show/series I've seen in many years... just finished the last season and was bummed that its over...

Another +++++ (thumbs up) for Justified, a great series, have all the DVD's and watch them every couple years....

John Sanford Prey series featuring a character named Lucas Davenport. Recommend you start at the beginning as some books refer back to previous books. He also has a spin off series whose main character is named Virgil Flowers. Flowers is sometimes in the Davenport books and vise-versa.

Well written and lots of humor.

I second this, and the Michael Connolly books the show is based on are even better than the series.

Another vote for Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer... both the books and the shows are excellent. Bosch in particular is some of the best TV around lately.

I like the Reacher books, less impressed by the movies. The jury is still out for me on the show... 1st season was OK.

Sanford's 'Prey' series is excellent reading. Skip the made for cable movie version with Mark Harmon... terrible. I would love to see a made for streaming version with the quality of Bosch. Josh Brolin would make a great Lucas Davenport, IMHO.

I was reading the Prey series, and then in one of the books the woman was in danger, and she asked Lucas for help in choosing a gun to protect herself.

He told her that if she bought a gun for self protection, either she would shoot herself with it, or the bad guy would take it away from her and shoot her with it. That she needed to leave the guns to the police.

I threw all my Prey books in the trash.

Most of my faves (Bosch, Reacher, the Davenport and Flowers series) are already mentioned. A couple more: the Grey Man series, and the Orphan X series. The Grey Man movie was a bit over the top, but the Russo Bros. directed, so to be expected. Honorable mention: the Alex Hawke series, the Alex Cross series.

Don’t forget to watch The Highwaymen.
Pretty good mini - series on Netflix about Hamer and others chasing Bonnie and Clyde.
I have gone up I-15 a number of times past Primm, NV where the B+C Ford was displayed.
They charged I think $15 to see that shot to **** Ford.
I could never muster up the urge to pay to see that car.
I love those old Fords!
But I like them when they look like this.

Orphan X is a great series. Main character is an OCD man who was trained by the government from the age of 10 to be a killer. He leaves the government and helps strangers out who are out of options and need help. The author goes out of his way to describe firearms used and is either very knowledgeable or does a lot of research to make sure he gets facts right.

Grey man is a excellent too. The author has also done several of the Clancy books.
