Picked up a BG 2.0 today and put 100 rounds (50 Fiocchi/50 SB). Function was flawless, no FTF, FTE, etc. Brass looks good but there is pretty heavy primer swipe. (This was a big deal with early Sig P365's and reports of firing pins breaking. Sig beveled the firing pin tip to solve the problem) Hopefully no firing pin issues down the road with the BG 2.0. I'm not that familiar with striker fired pistols so no frame of reference other than my P365.

Do these firing pin hits on the primer look normal for the Bodyguard?

Good catch. I'll have to check my casings next time I go to the range.

I think those primer strikes are normal fo a striker-fired pistol. Every one of my Glocks makes primer hits that resemble those you displayed.

Generally speaking, it is considered to be a problem simply because it can lead to an early breakage of the firing pin.

That doesn't necessarily mean the firing pin will break. As a previous person said, he has a M&P with the same issue and he has 13k rounds through it.

I personally wouldn't expect components of a Bodyguard to be as robust and durable as a M&P. I also wouldn't put a high round count on a gun with that issue, especially if it's a carry gun.

When the M&P 1.0 first came out there was a lot of angst about the teardrop shape of the striker hole in the breech. The shape is meant to iron out any primer indentation protrusion with minimal shaving. There is a striker retraction spring action, but it doesn't have the muscle of a firing pin spring in a hammer fired gun.

ETA: other types of firing pins put a more substantial dent in the primer cup than the striker fired guns. They seem to whack the primer hard enough to ignite it, not hard enough to substantially deform the primer cup. So, what you see is what happens.
