This is what happened at one school concerning our Constitutional rights........our children are being taught the wrong thing.

I'd be talking to the school board along with my attorney. There's a battle that's been going on in the country since the 60s. Every generation since Vietnam has been subjected to more "progressive thinking". We've reached a point in the country where there is an almost equal division in Conservatives vs Progressives. The tipping point has been reached and if conservative Americans don't step up and get their acts together the country is lost. Colorado is a perfect example of how creeping progressivism has turned a state. I don't think the people in Colorado saw it coming, but it's a perfect example of what is being allowed to happen across the country.

Our government teacher in high school told us the second amendment was outdated because people no longer NEED to hunt for food.

Many of the current school teachings are part of CSCOPE and Common Core. This is, some say, part of the Agenda 21 program of the UN that is an indoctrination of school children and turning them against the Constitution, the military, and most American values and history. Parents are not allowed an input or representation on local school boards as in the past. It's a serious corruption that needs to be eliminated.

It's called brainwashing, buffalo hunter. That teacher should be reprimanded if not fired. I have a hunch there's a lot more of this going on in public schools.......a sad commentary on the times.

One word....VOTE! Every chance you get to vote against an anti 2nd amendment candidate FOR ANY OFFICE, GO OUT AND VOTE, DAMMIT!!!
I fought for your right to vote, get off your a** and VOTE! And take a friend with you while you're at it! Voter turnout for any kind of election in this great country of ours is pathetic. I live in a metro area of almost half a million. 18% of registered voters turned out to vote in the mayoral primary a few wks ago...the incumbent Democrat running again has gone on record and on TV in ads calling for a ban on assault weapons and MORE GUN CONTROL! He's joined some nationwide group of hundreds of mayors (the name of their group escapes me at the moment) calling for the same nationwide. GO VOTE!!!! Sorry to hijack the thread, rant over, going to go take my blood pressure medicine now.

I recently read that in 20 states, instructional staff (teachers) are outnumbered by administrators (management that enforce PC codes etc).

No wonder public school taxes are so high.

I don't see this as a "left vs. right" issue. I see it as a very real effort to condition future generations from all walks of life and households that waiving one's basic human rights for false promises of "safety" and "security" is the wisest course of action. I also find the prevalence of the "I don't care what happens to anyone else so long as I get to keep the things important to me" mentality to be more widespread than I feel comfortable with.

Nobody thinks about the unthinkable until they're the ones being put to the question. I do not want to imagine a world where exercising my First, Fourth, Fifth or Sixth Amendment rights are forbidden by law simply because I fall into a certain group of persecuted individuals. No one wants to think that tomorrow, they could be labelled as the next "terrorist."

So what does this have to do with the Second Amendment, you ask? Well, I wish the people (that's individuals like you and me, not politicians) so Hell-bent on legislating this basic human right out of existence would ask themselves what recourse that would leave them with if they were ever persecuted or accosted by people who are incapable of reason or compassion, especially if they're accosted by more than one person and/or they're armed. It puts things in perspective when you remind them that waving the white flag for those who lack any human qualities just means you'll end up being strangled with it.

It would seem that a teacher should know a bit about what he is teaching. A teacher has the ability to totally transform the lives of his or her students. It is a position of great responsibility. I was fortunate to have some very incredible teachers who left an indelible imprint on my way of thinking and my life - teachers who did not enforce their opinions on me but instead opened my mind, inspired, and taught me to think for myself. I am grateful to them every day, and when I taught at a university for several years, I endeavored to follow their example. To have no clue, as in the case of your teacher, about the subject matter at hand and then to interject an opinion instead of fact, or to try to indoctrinate students in your own point of view is despicable. It is a disservice to the student as well as the nation.
