Default best 38special for a terrier

whats the best 38 spcl round to be safe to carry in a 54 terrier? want hollow poilts would a "plus p" be safe for carry? not steady diet but carry?

The Terrier (or .38/32, or model 32) is a .38 S & W, not Special. It can handle heavier than current factory .38 S & W ammo but it would have to be reloaded or from a custom loader.
