Has anyone had any issues with HKS speedloaders not feeding into the cylinder with certain brands of ammo?

Im using the HKS speedloader for a model 27, and some brands drop right in without any issue and others.... even with serious wiggling dont want to drop in.

Buffalo bore and Fiocchi have no issues.

Winchester silver tips and Remington golden sabers get stuck every time.

what i cant figure out, is with wood combat grips im getting plenty of clearance with all brands.

the only two variables ive noticed;
silvertips and sabers are rounded JHP, whereas Fiocchi and BB have a truncated JHP bullet design.

And the latter 2 brands are standard brass vs the nickel plating of the first two.
Does the case diameter increase that much with plating?

Could it be the base rim of the shell the way the racket on the HKS grabs it? Maybe the ones that don't want to go in easy don't have enough play in this area due to rim dimensions.

I haven't had the time to get out the calipers and look, but just by eyeballing it and holding it case to case, it appears to be the same.

I have 4 of these HKS loaders, and i cant help but think maybe they are not working properly.... I dont see any one else on the web having this issue.....

My neighbor just returned home from a winter in Arizona, and he has a model 27. I know he shoots golden saber and uses HKS speedloaders, so I had him load/unload with all three of his HKS's. The sabers matched up perfectly and inserted as they should without delay. There was no hang ups and the HKS loaders performed correctly. We used what was already in the 27 and the other two reloading tries were with new out of the box.

Thx for the info, so im ruling out the ammo as the culprit. i even took off the grips to make sure it wasnt hanging up, and it still snags. I've found one of the loaders holds the rounds in a tighter group and works with all ammo up to an "acceptable" level.

I had some speed loaders for my 686+ I had trouble with. The plastic between the holes got stressed for twisting the unluck knob. It wouldnt let the cases fall because they were rubbing on the deformed plastic.

I've had the best luck using Fiocchi® ammunition in my HKS®-36, 10A, and 587 speed loaders.
This ammunition releases and loads in my J, K, & L frame 357 Magnums far more easily than any
other brand. Cases are brass. Just my $0.02 FWIW.
