Default I hate ammo price gougers

Was on the road for work today and stopped in an NC shop to look around. They had some CCI Mini Mags with a 200 round limit so I asked the guy behind the counter to grab me two bricks. I pulled out my card to pay and he says: "That's $85.80" I said, you're joking right? He looked at me like I was an idiot.

My local shop is selling the same bricks (when he has them) for 9 bucks.

I walked out of the shop laughing and shaking my head.

even the over-priced pawn shop up the street from me has them for 9.99.

the guy deserves to have his house catch on fire and when the FD pulls up they should say " um yeah, we're gonna need $5k before we start rollin out the hoses bub."

I really could not believe it. I kept waiting for him to crack a smile and say: "Just kidding". What morons. Do they think word won't get out about their craziness?

I hate them too. I haven't bought any ammo since January or February. There is a lot of .22 ammo out there to buy at .28, .40, and .50 per round. I'd rather not shoot!

I completely agree that it is acceptable for stores to have the right to ask the price they would like. Fortunately it is a right in our country. We also have the right to shop where we choose.

That's ok. They can ask what they want but it will come back on them when they lose customers

FYI for anyone here that is looking for ammo- check out gunbot.net. It tracks certain websites for ammo and lists what they are selling it for. That's how I get mine for 1/2 the cost some of these guys are charging.

Why hate? Should somebody tell you what to sell your house or car for?
You didnt buy it because you didnt have to-nuff said.

The ant versus grasshopper has been written about and cussed and discussed since the beginning of recorded history.

I personally haven't bought any significant amounts of ammo since the day before Obama won reelection. I saw and heeded the signs.

I have bought a few boxes of Winchester PDX-1 230 grain .45 ACP when I find it at pre-panic prices because that is my preferred carry round. I recently went into a favorite LGS and they had eight boxes left so I bought all eight. The pre-panic price was $23.95 on the box. The owner sold them to me for $20.00 per box. I didn’t need it immediately, but it extends the time I can protect my family if the shortages go on longer than expected.

Yeah there is a couple Big Box stores around me that are gouging and I will never go there anymore. I can go to the small gun shops and they have plenty in stock with a couple dollar increase which I can understand! They also sell Guns less the MSRP! Love the place! Will not go anywhere and spend my money with gougers!

I make it a point to name names in cases like this. Businesses do have a right to charge whatever they want, and we have the right to boycott. that shop, unfortunately, isn't the first I've heard of charging that much for .22 ammo

1) You don't have to buy them at any price.
2) He can offer them at any price.
3) The $9 price is meaningless if your seller is out of stock. If you don't have any, you can put any price you want on the empty shelf.

It's not food or medicine you need to survive. Ammo is a luxury item, and right now it is at luxury prices. I took up wood working and holster making to fill the time I used to shoot.

If you have enough to load your weapon, you have enough to protect your home.

I hate greedy ammo hoarders who buy any and every thing they see, which only continues to keep ammo prices ridiculously high.

Yep, its alsopeople buying ammo still that is keeping these price's high, if everyone would stop buying ammo right now for a little while, price's would come back down to normal. Thank all you guys still running around like crazies checking your walmarts in 60 miles radius and buying up everything you can get your hands on, your are only fueling the panic ammo frenzy. Do not be mad at the people selling it, its not their fault you can not control your crazy buying of ammo right now. Find a new hobby for a little while. I have not bought ammo since November 2012 and will not again until the price comes back down to normal.

It also amazes me no one is complaining about the stupid crazy high gas price's still and everyone is making huge profit margins on that. Screw ammo price's , I am more concerned with gas price's.

I hate people that don't have the foresight to stock up on ammo when they should have and then publicly complain about not being able to buy cheap ammo when demand is ten-fold and supply is next to zero.

You snooze, you lose.

DEAL WITH IT or turn in your Man Card!

I hate *****holes that judge without fact.

I didn't even own a 22 until a month ago. Thus... no need to stock up on ammo that I couldn't use. GET IT?

Turn in your brain card. Wait... you probably weren't given one.

Cry all you want. If you also want ammo, just pay up. If you don't like the fact that some of us have it and you don't, I don't care. If you want some of my stockpile, you'll pay up or do without. Your ammo gouger may be my lifeline.

So take this a step along the way. Look at your crystal ball and say the unfriendly jerks win a majority in 2014. And suddenly we discover the ammo shortage of 2013 has continued all along. There just is no ammo to be had anywhere it seems. And now the gouger you hated so badly back in early 2013 turns out to still have the box of 22s he offered to you at $60. But now since you didn't buy it at that very reasonable April 2013 price, he now doesn't want $.10 a round, he wants $60 per round! And you discover you have no ammo at all. There you stand with an empty gun and hear a noise outside. You're not sure if it wolves or a few gangbangers waiting for you to come out without any protection at all.

So what do you do, buy a gun load or face the forces of evil empty handed. Or say you're crossing the great western desert. You ran out of gas at the top of the last hill and managed to coast downhill 2 full miles. This was the only filling station in a vast array of cacti. Then you discover he wants $10 a gallon for his fuel. Take it or leave it. Push your car or walk, its your choice.

What the OP here is really sore over is the fact that the other guy had foresight and he didn't. So instead of manning up and paying for his lack of "hoarding", he prefers to gripe and call the guy who planned bad names. Take your best shot. I have enough ammo, but I'll sell you some if you really need it. But it isn't going to be cheap, nor should it. The high price is calculated to teach you a lesson you obviously need. Back in the 1960s I put myself through college. We called that an education. Today you're going to have to pay for your education if you want ammo.

Got any MREs in the garage? Today you can usually find them for about $60 a case. But if you continue your crying ways and don't stock up, you'll be lucky to buy one of them for $60, and it won't be me selling to you. I'll remember the stink you kicked up back in early 2013 about ammo you failed to keep in the closet. The excess price is just fair price + educational costs. Quit whining, its not manly.

Yeah sure. I'm sore about not having the "foresight" to stock up on 22 ammo months ago. Oh jeez, wait.... I didn't own a 22 until 3 weeks ago... Nice diatribe moron.

When you say "brick" most of us think 500 rounds. For the last few decades bricks referred to 10boxes of 50 rounds per box. Now even the bulk packs 525's, 550's, 555's are even called bricks. I have never heard anyone call a 100round plastic box of CCI's a brick. These days if you could get 2 real bricks for 85 or 90 bucks, most people would jump at it.

I can get ammo. Can you read? In my original post I mentioned my local shop selling it for 9 bucks. He has it most of the time. Sometimes not. I've never had a problem shooting my new gun. Just thought it was "interesting" that another shop saw fit to charge 4 times the price. As far as insults, read your post again and see if you can comprehend the veiled insinuations and self-righteous, judgmental tone of your lecture. Then preach again to me about insults. I might be wrong, but I probably have as much or more "real" ammo as you do. I consider 22 on the same level as BB's and pellets. You assume I'm an idiot without even knowing me. How stupid is that? Are you granted some mythical stature here because your post tally is in the thousands?
