Anybody have experience with Grizzly Cartridge Company?
Hi, I recently ordered two 20 round boxes of 357 ammo from Grizzly Cartridge Company. I placed the order Saturday evening, and the $60 was removed from my account right away. I got an email that said "pending shipment" on Sunday morning. It is now Thursday as I write this and it still says pending on their website. I tried emailing them and got no response at all. Fedex says shipping from them is 3-6 days.
Anybody else have this problem with them? I understand they are probably busy, but they said the ammo was in stock and ready to ship. Thanks

I haven't ordered ammo from them is a while so any info I have is old info. I have ordered bullets from them at their Cast Performance sub-site and they usually ship fairly quickly but I haven't ordered anything this year since the shortage hit. Sorry...

Sorry I can't comment directly about Grizzly but I, too, have bought from their sister company Cast Performance and have been very satisfied with the purchase. I spoke to one of their ballisticians, who develops loads for Grizzly and CP. He was extremely helpful and his recommendations/predictions were spot-on.

Try calling them. They shouldn't be charging your card until they ship the product.

Will do. I know on ebay, some sellers dont even mark an item as shipped until after I receive it in the mail. Didn't know if that was the case here. I thought it was odd that my cc was charged and it still hasn't shipped. I will call tomorrow afternoon, around when fedex is supposed to arrive just to make sure.
I'll let you guys know how it works out.

I use grizzly .41 mag 265gr. wlngc i carry a few different variations of a model 657 for back up while hound hunting for bear, fantastic round for stopping a mad big black bear not a very fun round to target shoot both expensive and not pleasent .please check length of cartridge my partner has blackhawk in 41.mag had issues with catridges being to long ,easy fix with some sand paper ,but worth checking, the bullets i talk about in .41 mag . from grizzly are excellent hunting rounds these and winchester platinum tip 250 grain loads flatten black bears .I have had no problems at all dealing with the company, very good and proffesional to deal with when we had the bullet length issue and shipping new ammo no problems

I tried calling three times and nobody answered the phone. Hours are 8am-5pm. So far I have no way of contacting them, and my money is already taken out of my account.
What next??

Grizzly Cartridges is a very reputable company so I fail to see what you are so worried so soon into the transaction. If you are really that worried call your credit card company, cancel the order and burn a very good bridge behind you.

I understand, but I have never had a company charge a card without promptly shipping it. Besides, what company wont respond to emails or answer calls during business hours?

He is concerned that in today's instant shipments he got a "pending shipment" and it ain't shipped in in a WEEK. That package should have been on the big brown truck within 48 hours at the latest.
YOU know Grizzly is a reputable company! The OP never heard of them and is looking for "feel goods". So far you aren't helping!

Exactly. Most, if not all, companies would have had it shipped and delivered by now. They had said that if I ordered it last Monday, I would have it in less than 7 days.

What I said was truthful and IMO helpful. Most, but not all companies won't charge your card before they ship but there is no law I know of requiring it.
I answered the post and if that didn't make anyone "feel good" that's just tough. I grew up in a country where little things didn't make people fall apart. I don't know what happened to that country.

"... I don't know what happened to that country..."
It grew to expect customer service and goods delivered for dollars spent...and to be rightly suspicious when it doesn't occur in a reasonable time.

I really wish I could give the answers this thread deserves but I'm sure those answers would put me in dutch.
Continue to cry and post out of context quotes because I won't see it from here on.

As of right now, I still am wanting this company to come through and ship what I paid for. I would rather not have to call the CC company, but am I supposed to just give them $60 for no reason. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you expect to recieve something you paid for?
I was simply asking if anybody had this problem. I didn't mean to offend anybody.

I too am having this issue. I ordered some 10mm ammo from them October 26th and other than a confirmation email I can't get them on the phone or by email. Wondering if they went under or something. Took my money immediately and not responding too any communications. I think the site is a bust and guessing I'm gonna have to take the loss. Thank god for underwood ammo!

Good thing you brought this up again. It took me about 2 1/2 months to get my two boxes. The guy (owner?) said Starline was behind on brass since December 2012, sending small shipments at a time. If you wait a month or so you should be fine. There were two phone numbers they use. Try calling both and I'm sure he'll answer one and confirm the status of the ammo. If you cant find the second number, I can get it for you. It was on my bank statement.

The other number would be appreciated. The number they got listed just keeps sending me to a prerecorded message.....2 1/2 months? I'd rather just cancel. Underwood ammo uses starline as well as buffalo bore, and i buy from them monthly. If a brass shortage was the issue they should post a warning like every other company has. Rant over, I would like that other number, that would be greatly appreciated.

I am familiar with them but have never ordered anything from them. I just ordered 2 boxes from Double Tap which I received on Wednesday after ordering last Friday. I am very pleased with the customer service and fast turnaround time. I exchanged a few emails with the owner of the company to get a few questions answered regarding the load I was ordering and he was extremely helpful. May order 2 more boxes next week since ammo is still somewhat scarce, at least I'll have it. It's a hunting round, not target so it'll last a while.

They are located out of a very tiny little town (Rainier) along the Columbia River. They have no address other than a PO Box. I don't remember seeing them at the gun shows in Portland. I would just keep calling them.

It is a small family business. They usually have a table at the Portland gun shows. I buy their ammo at the gun shows or from NW Ammo Supply. The ammo is very good when you get it.

Although I have not shot any yet, my 357 mag SWC's appear to be a very good round. The ammo itself is very clean and consistent, and is packaged well. I would order again, perhaps in a larger quantity so I'm not waiting over a month for 20 rds. I checked my order sheet and it was exactly 7 weeks.

So got a hold of mike from grizzly cartridge company last friday Said he didn't have time to talk he'd get back to me later that day. Never called. So today I called 6 times finally got him again and just asked simply what the status of my order was....he started screaming at me......telling me this is the way the industry is going, and he's sick of people being impatient. I kindly replied with well if your so far behind maybe a warning on your site would help, and I was just simply requesting a status check. So I asked to cancel the order, and told him I wasnt being rude so why was he? He began on Some rant, more yelling. I simply replied with I can get my ammo else where. Guy was kind of an ***. I get my full power ammo from underwood, but wanted to try something different but not from him. I don't buy double tap as every load Ive chrono'd or seen vids for falls way short of advertised even with longer barrels. 50.00 for 50 rounds is too expensive when armscor has plinking rounds that beat double taps. Seems underwood and buffalo bore for me here on out. Mike from grizzly is a complete dick.

Hello,
Horrible experience ordering ammo from Grizzly Cartridge. I first bought their ammo in 2011 for a trip to AK. Was very accurate out of my Ruger SBH 44 Mag.
I ordered another 20rnd box of 300gr 44mag on 3/26/14. My credit card was charged the same day. No mention of a backorder or possible delay on their web site. On 4/23/14 I emailed them to get an update on my order. NO reply. On 5-6-14 I called them and talked to a rude guy who took my order number, name, and phone number. He said he would call right back. NO return call from Grizzly Cartridge.
Now, I understand they may be backed up or overwhelmed by the ammo panic, but do not charge my card until the order ships like most other companies do. If they are backed up, tell me. I might wait a long time for this good ammo.
I'm guessing their company is collapsing. Best to avoid and find an alternative.

Do not buy directly from them.
They take your payment and you never hear from them again.
I placed an order with them and they immediatly charged my
card, but it has been a month now and they will not answer
e-mails or the phone.
They are either crooks or just so rude I can't believe it.
Midway carries their bullets, but haven't had any in stock for
a month. If they ever do have them in stock, I would buy
from Midway.

Not
Clearly, they are NOT so reputable. I would suggest not only
calling your CC company but filing a complaint with the Oregon
Bureau of Consumer Affairs.

I find it a little suspect when a new user registers with a forum just to trash a company.
