Anyone have experience with IMI ammo? A local store is selling it by the 1000 round case in 9MM 124 gr for $299.00. Box says NATO ammo, brass casing, military spec. The name Sampson was on case as well. First I have seen it.

Hot stuff from Samson.when you see videos of 50AE sending fire rings down range , it's Samson ammo. IMI tends to make everything hot.great quality ammo . Buy it when you can, no longer made for sales outside Israel.

Used to see this stuff in the early '90s - it was warm, if my old Chrony tapes are to be relied upon. Pilgrim, they used to import it in all the "major" shooting calibers (including .41 AE - remember that? ;) ) - I'm not aware they're importing IWI/Sampson again, but wouldn't be surprised.

Back in the day, I got a 1000 round case of Samson/IMI .45 ACP hardball for $160. It was great ammo and I'm still reloading the brass!

If you lived in the same neighborhood as the Israelis, you KNOW you'd have to make top quality ammo.

I've shot a lot of their 5.56…..top of the line, check out Wideners shooting supply……they sell it…..always had good service from them as well.

Semper Fi!

I had a couple of boxes of their 9mm FMJ ammo that I bought at a
gun show about 18-20 yrs ago. I wanted to try it before I bought in
quantity. Pretty hot with poor quality control with variation between
shots of up to 150 fps or so. I never bought any more. Maybe current
ammo is better. You always take a chance when you buy in quantity
without a sample to test.

Samson is IMI's commercial branded ammo. I shot a lot of their 9mm back in the 80's and it was great ammo. At $15 a box ($300 a case) I personally would buy it.

Yes in my experience it is top notch ammo.

I have shot IMI Samson ammo in 9mm, 45 ACP, 223 and 308.

Their 223 63gr ammo is some of the most accurate 223 ammo I have fired, as is their 150gr 308. I have killed deer with both of them and the bullets performed great as well.

Actually I have even killed a deer with their 185gr Hardball 45 ACP.

The 9mm ammo was marked under the UZI brand as Carbine Black Tip.
The 45ACP ammo was marketed under the UZI brand, as High Velocity 185gr Match F.M.J. S.W.C. HARDBALL.
It was actually a round nosed bullet, with a wad cutter shoulder behind the round nose. It has always fed 100%.
It is some of my favorite 185gr 45 ACP ammo ever. I am wearing a magazine of it now...

Also before I retired, when 5.56 ammo was near impossible to get, my Dept got a bunch of 5.56 ammo in Winchester white boxes marked "Made in Isreal"... It was packed loose in the white box no internal brown packaging seperating the individual rounds. It shot great.

Its top notch ammo. Widener's is a good place to look as noted earlier.
I believe IMI is licensed to sell to the US military as well.

Yes you are correct, I have seen a lot of US Military issue 45 ACP 230gr ball ammo loaded by IMI. The actual heaedstamp is TZZ, and the year, if I remember correctly.

I had some boxes of .44 mag that my dad ordered from a magazine back in the 90's Hansen Combat is what was on the box, but the brass used is marked IMI, so it probably came from Israel, everyone who says that it's hot stuff, they aren't lying, that is some hot .44 for 180 grainers

At one point, IMI made 5.56 ammunition for Winchester. The number on the white box was Q3131A. It was considered superior to Q3131, which was made by Winchester.
