I stopped at a almost LGS in my kid's college town 50 miles from home, always a stop for me when I visit since they carry a large selection of department trade ins. Today's happiness was a large ammo sale display with many cases of .38 special and 38 special +p in several varieties. I felt like a kid in the candy store. All the local .38 has been 130-132 gr FMJ for a year or more and real SD loads have been mail order only. I ended up coming home with a 500 rd case of Remington+p 158gr SWLHP "FBI" load, 244.99 plus tax, all my budget would allow.
Also available were 40+ 4" model 64's and maybe 20-30 Model 60's, many in great shape, all I handled at least in good shape, no Department markings, mixed wood and rubber grips.
So many guns, so little money!
