Just picked up some Blazer 9mm

Sounds good. I just hope their 9mm stuff is better than the .22 stuff. I bought a 500 round brick of the 22LR a few months ago and it is very smokey and leaves a ton of residue on and "in" my barrel.

Unfortunately, my local pistol range had recently decided to ban the use of "non reloadable" shells (excluding .22's), which means I'll have to find somewhere else to use all that dirt cheap TulAmmo I bought for $10.00 a box.

Yeah, I shoot Tul too. Never seen it that low though.

That's interesting. Our range doesn't allow steel (either case or bullet) nor is open lead allowed (plated or jacketed only), excluding 22, of course. But there was no ban on aluminum cases.

Did they offer an explanation?

My range has the same rule, the reason is that they sell empty casings to a remanufacturer and they don't get as much for mixed (aluminum and brass) casings. They either have to get less money or manually separate the cases.

I bought the same box of Blazer yesterday at Bass Pro for $15.
I thought it was a fair price, but I hadn't bought 9mm in quite some time.
They also had a nice assortment of 22LR on hand. I snagged one box of Federal auto match (325) for $19.99. They also had the plastic sleeve of 100 CCI (various types). The salesman said they are getting more in all the time, but still limit only 22 sales to one per person. No limit on other calibers.

I've shot countless boxes of Blazer Brass, the stuff you bought looks like the same configuration (very similar muzzle energy & identical velocity) in aluminum cases. You shouldn't have any problems.

On a sidenote, their brass has been reloading pretty well. I'm impressed with the cost to value ratio of Blazer products.

I've had great luck with Blazer, both brass and aluminum cases. I'm usually shooting my 5906, which I admittedly don't baby too much. She's seen her share of steel-cased rounds, too. My Browning gets the good food.

Check out SG ammo dot com for some good deals on Blazer, PMC and other 9MM.

I've shot thousands of rounds of Blazer 9MM and 45 ACP over the years without a single issue of any kind. I like it at the outdoor range with gravel as policing brass is nearly impossible.

Blazer is good reliable ammo in my experience. Pistol ammo prices are definitely falling. When I bought my second 9mm a year ago (the beloved Shield) I loaded up on ammo, mostly at around $14.99. So now I see these good prices and can't justify buying it. Palmetto has Blazer Brass at $11.99, and they also have Sellier & Bellot brass at $10.99. One range I go to doesn't allow aluminum cases but they allow steel. The other range allows aluminum, but not steel. I pretty much only buy brass FMJ anyway.

No but, I know exactly why. He reloads and sells ammo at the range and since you can't reload steel.................

He mostly reloads pistol calibers but, some rifle calibers as well.

He does allow certain calibers that are simply "not available" in brass however, such as the 7.62x54r for my Mosin.

I ordered a case of Blazer Aluminum from SG ammo yesterday
afternoon. 10.99 a box + 15.00 shipping if you buy a 1,000 rd case.
Blazer Aluminum is more consistant and reliable than the steel cased
imports in my experience.

Excellent price! Inexpensive, clean, accurate, low cost, ballistic equivalent of most standard pressure 115, 124 gr. standard pressure ammunition.
Little not to approve of! Have fire tens of thousand of Blazer Aluminum cased ammunition, in many calibers. Never had one single issue!
I have even fired the 115gr. 9mm from H&K MP-5's, known for forceful extraction, with zero issues. I'd offer, buy all you can and train a lot!

I'm glad to hear.....

I'm glad to hear that Blazer brass reloads well. I bought some mixed range brass and about 1/3 of it is Blazer.
