Been seeing this pop up on various online dealers sites. So $64 dollar question how does it stack up as to what you normally shoot. Not the 223/5.56 but the 38 special,357 magnum and 45acp. Supposed to be loaded for GECO by MFS in Hungary. When reloading mixed cases for 45acp always trashed the MFS stuff as primer flash holes were so off center the decapping pin didn't always push the primer out. Aim has it as well as SG AMMO. Thanks Frank

I can't comment on the current stock, as I have not been able to get my hands on any locally, however the search continues. When I was in the gun business in Germany, left in 1998. GECO was part of the RWS family, and was what the "white box" equivalent is to Winchester, a lower cost sporting grade.
If it was pure junk, I can promise you the German sport shooters would not buy it, Plinking is not part of the vocabulary.
I did own more firearms in Germany, than I currently do, yet everything revolved around competition shooting, and following the rules and traditions around it. Many of us were also active reloader's, and junk was not tolerated, after a 3 day required schooling, and the cost involved to get an Explosives License, you expected quality product.
On the other side since for the most people, there is nothing to compare against, they could be shipping their seconds to the US.
My SIG 210 is sighted in for the GECO 124gr 9mm, so I am still out on the search to find some.
If you do try some, let me hear about the results.

I've not shot it in the calibers about which you ask, but several boxes have proven the new stuff is absolutely fine in .32, .380 and 9mm.

Living in germany GECO is my ammo to go in my 9mm SIG 210 for any use including hi class competition (Steyr GB and Walther P88 love it as well). No worry about that. I use 38 Spl when teaching handgun shooting in hunting classes, ammo is ok. Had one incident on the range last year when a wheelgun went kaboom with GECO 357 Mag (RWS is examining the remains of gun and ammo at the moment). 45 ACP is ok, but can't comment on accuracy.

Have recently shot their 38 special. Good plinking ammo. As far as the brass is concerned most of it was fine but I came across 3 or 4 cases that would not fit into the shellholder due to mishapen case rims.

One oof the reasons I asked those questions is that down here any 38 special you see is only WWB 38 special. 357 magnum forget about it. Haven't see commercial sporting 38/357 at our local wally world for years.I have shot their 223 FMJ and it is accurate in a m4 carbine. So thanks again, Frank

I have seen that ammo for bargin prices online and have been curious about it. It seems it used to be described as German or Swiss made, but recently it is described as made in Hungary. I wonder if there is a difference.

Since nobody mentioned it I will ask, How dirty is it? My experience has been the cheap ammo is usually the dirtiest. For example I bought a case of Blazer aluminum case 38 special on sale a few months ago. Shoots fine but it is so dirty it takes twice as long to clean my gun. I had the same experience with PPU 38 special ammo.

Geco ammo has been around a long time use to buy it in 80's still have a lot of the brass in 9mm that i still reload. It was good ammo.

I bought 500 rounds at the last gun show for $17.99 a box of 50 230g fmj. They shoot as good as any out of my 625-2 & 325sc. I will buy more at the next gun show.

I have used Geco 38 special many times...it always performed flawlessly, but was pretty dirty. Not much of a problem to clean in a revolver but might add a little time to cleaning a 9mm. I would still buy again if the price is right.

I bought a case through Target Sport of 124gr 9mm last year. The ammunition was accurate, clean and a pleasure to shoot from a BHP.

The brass is nice for reloading too. GECO is decent stuff.

I tried some 12 rounds each of Geco and PMC in my new BG 380.
The PMC went off on the first pull, three of the Geco took 2 pulls, one took 3.
I did a search here and found the BG 380 has FTFire with several brands of ammo, Geco being one of them. I'm going to shoot the rest of it in my Colt Mustang and expect no FTFs.
