I just purchased some PPU / Privi Partisan .22 Jet ammo. It came out to about $33 a box delivered which is very reasonable these days. Brass for the Jet doesn't seem to be a problem but Hornady has not made the correct .222" 40 grain Jet bullets for a couple of years and the .223" Sierra 40 grain bullets are difficult or impossible to find too.
I measured the bullets in the PPU ammo and got .22175" to .2220" depending on my micrometer and measuring technique so it appears that PPU is using the correct bullets. They are 45 grains in weight.

Has anyone fired these in their Model 53's and has anyone chronographed them ? Accuracy ? Their website says ballistics from a 257mm barrel (about 10 1/8") is 695 meters per second or about 2280 fps which seems very fast for a 45 gr. bullet even from a 10" test barrel. I would be curious what it clocks from the usual 6" or 8 3/8" Model 53.

Cant help you with that particular load, other than to say my experience with PPU ammo has been very positive in 5.56 and 308 calibers. The brass has been very good quality for reloading.

It is good that factory .22 Jet is being offered again in large quantities. I recall PPU made a run about 6 months ago that sold out rather quickly; perhaps with enough demand it will be a semi-regular offering.

Earplugs and muffs, anyone? :)
