Was in wally world and stopped by the gun dept. As usual had to wait for someone to show up. They had a 1200 round can of the turkish ZQI 9mm ammo. At the time I didn't bother asking the price. Has anyone here used this ammo and how did it perform?. Frank

I bought several boxes a few years ago. Mine is 124 gr Nato spec
according to what it says on the boxes and it checks out on the chrono.
I paid around $13.50 per box. If it's the same stuff and at the price I
paid or less I would say grab the 1200 rds.

It is good ammo. 123gr NATO. Its the only ammo that runs 100% reliability in my 559. If you reload it though, it has a crimp and that needs to be removed.

2 or 3 years ago I was shooting ZQI 9mm NATO in an H&K pistol and was getting blown primers and stuck cases not extracting. I had a good friend with me shooting the same box in another H&K pistol of different model than mine and he encountered the same. ZQI contacted and the rest of the ammo was sent back and they replaced the ammo free. Never did shoot it again but my brother had no problem putting thru his Gen II Glock 17.

Never did hear back from them what the results were.

Thanks for your info and comments. Greatly appreciated. I'll wander by that store and see what they are asking for it. Frank

I've had no major issues with it in .308 and 5.56, but I seemed to have problems getting tight groups with the 308 (through a rifle that typically shoots like a laser beam).
I don't think I've even seen it in 9mm, but if it was cheaper than Perfecta or Federal aluminum, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

The reason I started this thread was that Wally world had the ZQI 9mm in 50 cal ammo cans and 1200 rounds as I've never shot any of the ZQI ammo. Think I'll go back and see what they are asking for the can. Thanks for all your comments and they are greatly appreciated. Frank

Good ammo and great brass for reloading. Nato spec that is head and shoulders above Winchester White Box.

Went back to wally world and had the sales person check the price on the ZQI 9mm ammo in the 1200 round ammo can. Hold on to your wallets. $492 without tax which add another $45-50 to the purchase price. OUCH. He had one of those little scanners that I guess checks the bar code. Well I got 500 rounds from a group buy but it is Swiss made 9mm 124 grain. So much for that excersise in futility. But what I find funny is that they had 22rf on the shelves. 5-100 rounds of winchester. First time i have seen 22rf on this stores shelves since this whole ammo shortage thing has started. Frank
