I usually use Truball because they have performed extremely well out of my Mossberg 500 in terms of accuracy. I saw a box of Power-Shok and bought it out of mere curiosity. I was sort of surprised to see slugs from the same ammo company in the same price point, almost as if Federal is competing with itself. I am sure a big box company like Federal knows a heck of a lot more than a peon like me when it comes to what is best for their business and I'm sure there is a reason for this but I was curious if someone could enlighten me. Is it a FPS thing or different purpose for these or something I'm missing? I'm going to test for myself but I am honestly curious 🧐

For the same reason they make different loads of .38 Spl, .45 A.C.P, etc.

Fair enough.

My brother told me truball is hollowed out for the ball and the Power-Shok is a heavier projectile with no hollowed out section so the projectile is heavier. Made sense to me, so I'm going to roll with that.
